$8mil sounds like a QB with time on his hands.

Maybe this is why there was a clause in Kyler Murray’s contract about doing homework?

$8 million seems like an opportunity for a casino to contact the player and allow them an “opportunity” to provide some inside info.

8 Mill?

Jerry Jones approves!!

Anything the NFL says is absolutely hollow UNLESS they divest of gambling business partners because they are against the bi-product of it. They do it with tobacco. They do it with guns. They absolutely choose causes and companies as winners and losers (I kill myself…) due to the stance of ahem The Shield.

Welp… this would be a great chance for the NFL to step up and cancel a market relationship that damages people and their own employees along with it. Or… just let adults be adults with most of it. You bet on NFL games - then ok you may have an undue influence on that even if it’s not your team. Betting on BBall in a Lion paid for hotel room… Get thee heck out of here! Get it off my screen if you are going to ban players for engaging in it on a cell phone in a hotel room.

I don’t gamble at all, but I’d imagine if I had a problem with gambling, which I know a lot of people do, it would be almost impossible to avoid the non stop advertisements. Talk about a trigger for an addict. Turn on the ball game or the football games and you see 50 gambling ads with live odds over a 3-4 hour game. I feel for the kids growing up watching this constantly, this is going to cause a lot of problems.

Combine all 3 and you’re all set for a wild afternoon! haha

Seriously though yes, it’s out of control.

It was an all time low when the pre-game for the playoffs last year was bracketed by an add showing the betting odds. Literally taking cubic inches away from your channel in an extreme infomercial fashion.

I watch a fair bit of baseball, and here in Ontario, Canada, they give you live updates on the odds during commercials. So, for example, 4-2 game in the 4th inning and they will update the betting line live on the TV screen, this happens throughout the entire game. It’s hard to ■■■■■■■ watch even and I don’t even gamble. The addicts must be going nuts with that shit.

NFL games must be hard to watch if you are a recovering alcoholic and a recovering gambling addict.

This player is suspended or did he follow all the rules?

Unless I missed it they didn’t say he lost the money by betting on football, or even sports, just said gambling. That could just be a bad night at the roulette table I guess?

I wish I had $8 mil to drop! And if I did, I wouldn’t be gambling with it, but hey, to each their own.

Lol good thing they can’t advertise cigarettes anymore or they’d just be shoving people right off the edge!
