Right there with you so I guess there are at least 2 of us. Brad will not over pay in terms of draft picks or salary compensation. Based on the salary cap implications I would be surprised if this happens. Any moves Brad makes are likely role players and depth. We aren’t making a big move here (should have been obvious) and the sky is not falling.

The Davis trade was IMO just Brad saying “enough is enough.” Our draft haul was no guarantee and we didn’t want our strategy to be so focused/needs based. It was IMO a sage, albeit costly, move.

The Davis for a third rounder to me looks a really good decision now. Even if we don’t resign him we are likely to net a 3rd or 4th round compensatory pick for him.

With some good fortune Arnold fell to us in the draft - without acquiring Davis we would have been left in a position where we had to move up to get a corner and probably deal that third rounder to do so.

Or we give a top of the market deal to Snead.

Holmes isn’t without reproach. No one really is…. Sure there’s plenty someone can question him on.

But I think he’s earned the benefit of doubt for the most part. I think that’s how most fans feel. Most feel he will make the right choice in the end. Even if that choice is no one.

Brad just isn’t going to mortgage the future by overpaying now.

I have a really hard time how anyone can defend all of the following actions at the same time:

• Trading a future 3rd for Gio Manu
• Extending Taylor Decker after drafting Manu
• Trading a current third for Carlton Davis
• Not trading a “valuable” draft pick for Za’Darius Smith or some other EDGE

Brad needs to make A move of some kind at the DE spot. The ONLY reason that the trade deadline should pass with Smith potentially not on our team is because we got outbid. Period.

I have a hard time understanding why we are not upset that Brad had drafted players like Sewell, Hutch, Gibbs, Branch, Joseph and signed guys like Montgomery…I mean how dare he win a division title and some playoff games. And damn you Sheila….Matt Millen should be the GM and Matt Patricia should be the HC. This Brad Holmes guy sucks
