Stafford vs Goff Trade isn’t settled YET!

So sure what the Lions and Rams got from the trade is all set. BUT the domino effect isnt over yet.

Other teams used the Lions and Rams picks to make other trades and more trades. And it snow balled. And there is still ONE pick yet to be made. Arizona 2024 3rd round pick from Tennessee.

So if the Stafford Goff trade never happened… this all wouldn’t have happened!

2 players and 27 draft picks were moved to different teams because of the trade. That initially only was 2 players and 3 picks.

Values based on calculatorsoup.com

Whats very interesting is that according to the value chart. Stafford was worth ~2300 points (equivalent to the 2nd over all pick) more than Goff! All Hail Holmes!

Brad Holmes is the only LA Rams acquisition that matters. He’ll figure the rest out.

So I’ve figure out my Jared catch phrase. I’m concerned bc I’m superstitious and it’s Russ centric.

Let Jared Pipe!

Trades done

We got Goff, Gibbs, Jamo and Iffy
The Rams got Stafford.

The Rams won the Super Bowl, they got what they wanted.
We set ourselves up nicely to compete . . . we got what we wanted.

But the trade is done and over.

Well yes, kinda.

Nothing ive read includes EVERYTHING that was moved around because of the trade.

Including everything the lions traded to get all the picks they had made.

There was one or two threads that went indepth on all the trades etc involving the picks. However, it was a while back and you would have to probably go three or four pages back to find them if not further.

I like it.

Except for the Stafford=0 part.

This does not show that the Lions had pick 32 that was included in the Jamo deal. Seems like everybody forgets that. Another poor accounting of the trade

This is exactly how I see it as well. Both parties got what they wanted. No need to pretend that there is a “winner.”

The 32nd pick went to Minnesota.

Thats my whole point. You have to look at EVERYTHING the lions traded for.

The number is draft capitol. Goff = 0 as well

It absolutely does. It is accounted for under Minnesota because they made the pick. We didnt have that pick to start. We had matt stafford at that point in the equation. The Rams had pick 32 in the begining. (Notice everything they had on the left went to us…) This shows start and end points perfectly. Well done @DBend144 !

Oh I was just kidding around @DBend144 - It’s July, make as many Stafford/Goff thread trades as you like.

As long as you stay away from threads about Jamo’s Twitter likes, we good, we good!

You should have read it all, then.

There was one that was okay - but you had to read footnotes carefully. There was another one just the other day that was horrendous with all kinds of double counting. This is by far the best one I’ve seen.

EDIT:

I had never heard of calculator soup but its a pretty cool site. To be clear, calculator soup’s draft pick chart is based on the Jimmy Johnson chart — not later iterations such as Rich Hill.

At the end of the day, we traded Stafford for Goff, 2 - 1sts and a 3rd. The point value for those two firsts and a 3rd according to the Jimmy Johnson trade chart, the Rich Hill trade chart or the Fitzgerald Spielberger trade chart are roughly the equivalent to Jamo, Gibbs and Iffy.

Stafford got us Goff, Jamo, Gibbs and Iffy. Looking at it any other way overcomplicates things.
