And from me?
Jared Goff is the greatest Lions quarterback of all time. Been a journey, but I made it.

That koolaid is so good when it hits your lips.
If we win the SB this year, its going to be one helluva 30 for 30 when it comes out.
Married life is treating Goff GOOD
He sort of has a cheat code but ok.
It makes such a difference. I wish Jamo would find a good woman and start hanging with her all the time, so he could focus strictly on his profession and his family. It’s how most of our team rolls. I love that Goff doesnt’ have the distraction, same with young guys that we draft that are already with their person.
Ra, Deck, Goff, Monty…and many, many more. Being in a great relationship with a woman vs sowing your wild oats (I know there is a lot of middle ground and gray area) is a great thing. Hone your focus and gives you more purpose to fight for professionally than seeking significance through being a good football player. Becoming more love driven and thinking about something other than yourself. Love driven vs Significance driven. For the most part, this is our team (certainly the majority of our best players)
Goff has been great…but Lamar Jackson is the mid season mvp.
He’s got more passing yards…more tds…fewer picks. Plus 500 yards rushing.
Lamar has had arguably the best first half in nfl history.
On pace for 4500 passing yards, 40 passing tds, 1000 yards rushing, 5 rushing tds. And only thrown 2 ints. It’s insane what he is doing.
Who am I kidding… Goff for MVP
Getting back to the theme of FAITH in the people BH selects – and the whole EGO trip thing.
Being driven by significance is really being driven by ego.
Love, on the other hand, is putting someone above yourself. And so much of FAITH comes down to believing in something greater than one’s self.
To have a real team founded in brotherhood, it takes this kind of stuff.
I know people don’t want to admit it but Lamar also has the flash to him. I go back and forth if I think Goff has a chance to win MVP. Nothing to do with him but because of who Goff is and how he gets the job done. Which sucks and shouldn’t take away from him but it probably will. The weird saving grace that I think Goff may have is he hasn’t won it. They seem to do a decent job spreading around the MVP.
Please also don’t take this as me saying Goff isn’t deserving. I don’t want anyone else under center for the Lions.
yup - significance is borne of ego and insecurity, to an extent…buuut…there are 2 sides of ego, and it’s not exactly the same thing.
Woooooord!!!
100%. I totally feel like most ppl dramatically underestimate it.
If Matt Ryan can win it, so can Goff. In fact I think if the rest of the field was like last year’s, he’d be the runaway favorite at the moment. But Lamar is playing much better than he did even last year.
I think the fact that Lamar has already won it twice will have voters leaning a different direction if there is another viable candidate. Of course Lamar’s stats may be better, but this offense has not had to do nearly as much because of how dominating this team has been. Imagine if we played a close game late into the 4th quarter or even played from behind a little. I think you have to look a little beyond the total stats and dive more into the efficiency.
Wins and losses may come into it at some point, too.
Being “valuable” isn’t just about accumulating stats but also about whether success follows your efforts.
What makes this team truly special…every player and coach on this team would rather hold the Lombardi trophy at the end of the year than win any of these other awards. That’s when you know you have more than great athletes, you have built a culture and team.
What Goff has given Detroit and the state of Michigan is unlike anything I have ever seen. Whether he wins MVP or not. Goff can live in California when his playing days are over, but his home will always be in Detroit.
Agree.
This Northern California kid, LA kid has fit in very well in this Blue Collar city. It’s been fun.
