The stud Indiana DE that injured his knee celebrating after the National Semifinal is still unsigned. Rumors are he’ll likely sign in August.
We could redshirt him and not use a roster spot and then potentially have 3 cheap years of impactful DL depth.
Hope we’re in on this.

That would be amazing. Letting adding a draft pick for next year.

Kinda surprised no one has signed him yet. Basically nothing to lose
A visual representative of how good Daley was last year relative to the mean D1 DL.
For comparison’s sake here is Rueben Bain, Jr.’s 2025 production compared to that same baseline.
The hurries isn’t 0. That is a data gap. Need to remove that and separate DL into DT and DEs. But so much to do and so little time to do it.

He said that he wanted to wait until he felt healthy to sign.
I guess if he looks healthy he can increase his asking price and hope for a bit of a bidding war. Pretty rare for a talented kid to be just sitting out there this time of year.
And he can identify opportunity. TC injuries or underperformance might open up a path to playing time later in the year.
I couldn’t find knee injury specifics but I assume it’s just an ACL.

Im all for the dart throw,
But he was ranked #47 edge rusher in this years class.
@Kool-aidCornbread what did Dane’s beast have to say about him , where was he ranked on that list of edge rushers?
It is wild watching college football and seeing how good some of these guys are on Saturday’s still unsigned.

Pretty sure that is bc by the time the rerating would have occurred he was rehabbing a surgically repaired knee. He was a one year breakout as well after being just fine at Kent St. But he was awesome last year and though he’s sawed off is a really good athlete.

Granted that is Purdue and Haines allows his DL a crazy degree of freedom with their stunts and loops. So perhaps some of it won’t translate.

Yes , I think he could be a James Houston type fond for sure for us I’m all for it.
Just crazy guys like him, Corleone, etc aren’t on a Team.
Big times players on Saturday. Wild stuff

Yep. He was really impactful against the run so I would think we’d like him.

He’s exactly the same size as West our 7th round DE pick we drafted
That short squatty edge type we seem to like for some reason
West, Wheat, Paschal, …. Daley fits

Actually now that I think about it you seem to have a thing for the shorter tank type edges on day 3 last few drafts. I too liked Mo Kamara a lot tho

Seems that way. But Daley is noticeably quicker than West or AH IMO. Or was. If it’s just an ACL I assume that he’ll bounce back.

Good find.
The sign & stash is usually my go to for the OL last few years… Vorhees, McLaughlin etc
Hadn’t thought about DL.
Hassanein & Daley as free dudes in the locker room this year is A+ building

Horrible timing. Horrible accident .
Kid has such a good perspective on life about it.
I would have been devastated if it happened to me at that age.
Wise young man
