I watched the video and was very disappointed. I thought all 52 films revealed the secrets to card tricks?
All “52” films must be the advanced version of all 22 films. Ive seen the one from all 22 films lol
Whoops. Yeah. Think I had cut day on the mind and mashed up 53 and 22.
Thanks for posting this. I did not realize Gilmore was so sticky, I have high hopes for this guy.
Well done Lion scouts!
What’s up with the discrepancy with Gilmore’s size?
He was being touted as 5’9" and now I’m hearing he’s 6 feet?
He’s 5’9". This is the official combine link.
That’s what I believed, but now looking into it I see the Lions site saying he’s 6’0" - and ESPN and PFF also saying the same.
You’d think the combine would get it right. Then perhaps a Lions intern got it wrong and then that was copied by the other sites?
Or is he actually 6’0 tall? Three inches is a big discrepancy (that’s what she said, stop it), like huge for a CB especially.
I think his smallish size is why he didn’t get any real hype.
He looks 5-9 maybe 5-10, 170 lbs. Small dude, but if he can cover, he can cover.
The thing about Gilmore that stands out to me is the fundamentals in his footwork. He doesn’t take bad angles or waste steps. He’s fluid. He does the things well that you wish Will Harris did. I do think he can be a better version of Nevin Lawson.
However I caution fans that his size means he will be a liability in press. He will be a liability in certain concepts.
He’s going to show well at the things he does well and fans will be begging for us to start him on the outside. I think that would be a mistake.
He can be a quality role player. Maybe even a starting level sub-package guy / Nickel back. I think that’s his ultimate ceiling though.
I am looking forward to seeing how he doesn’t when the Lions open up the playbook and he has to deal with some more complex concepts.
I think he’s really instinctive. I’m fascinated by the idea of looks in which we’re mostly in man while he is in zone. For instance we could use him as a a Cover 1 robber of sorts with CJGJ taking over his man responsibility and allowing Gilmore to hunt mistakes.
He’s probably not ready for that yet but IMO given development and opportunity his instinctive play may lend itself to an above average ability to create turnovers.
I thought the same thing. He’d probably excel in a zone concept MOD type of role or in cover 3 type of concepts.
He’s best in space and his skills are perfect for a zone role. I think we’re going to develop him to play a sub package type of role.
Kind of like our undrafted Emmanuel Forbes
Taller than the other UDFA CB, Dorsey (5’8").
