Summer league...Pistons get revenge on Knicks

While the Tigers went to their obligatory blackout on FanDuel, the Pistons were on. OK, it wasn’t really revenge, but the Pistons youngsters overwhelmed the Knicks youngsters last night, in a dominant wire-to-wire thumping.

Ron Holland - 28 points with some made threes - he was clearly the best player on the court.

Bobi Klintman - filled up the box score, and if he keeps this up will be pushing for regular minutes this year.

Sasser - didn’t play, I thought he was on the roster but maybe not?

Lolo Smith - watch this guy - big and athletic, he could be pushing Paul Reed for spot minutes this year.

Jenkins - PG - he looked like the second best payer on the court but can get a little undisciplined at times.

The rook - Chaz Lanier - made some catch and shoot threes, but is clearly not a shot creator.

All in all a wire to wire victory. Nice to see Duren and Cade in the house with front row seats and were giving the guys their props, esp. Holland.

And the Tigers game sounds like it was a good one to miss!!

Holland had the best performance on the Pistons’ Summer League roster, much to the team’s satisfaction. He played in three games and showed noticeable improvements within his skill set, particularly with his 3-point shooting.

Holland averaged a team-high 21.7 points on 46.7% 3-point shooting. He began the tournament shooting 6-of-8 from deep through the first two games. The second-year forward had an impressive performance displaying his two-way versatility with averages of 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 steals.

“I feel like I’ve grown a lot,” Holland said. “When I’m in the gym with Freddie V. (Fred Vinson), we have worked on catch-and-shoot, but I am a basketball player. I just love basketball, I know what kind of player I am. I feel like I am just out there hoopin’ and making the right plays.”

Build a case for a rotational spot: Daniss Jenkins
Most intriguing player: Tolu Smith
Motor City hopeful: Zakai Zeigler

Most disappointing player: Bobi Klintman

Klintman’s performance in Las Vegas was decent but somewhat disappointing when compared to the lofty expectations he had entering the tournament. An impressive outing could have earned him a backup role in coach J.B. Bickerstaff’s rotation next season. However, Klintman might spend his second year developing his skills in the G League.
