Super Blue moon

Heads up, today August 19, 2024, the moon will be in a rare alignment that combines a supermoon and a blue moon. This event, which is also known as a super-blue moon, will peak at 2:26 PM Eastern Time. The moon will appear full until early Wednesday morning,

Take a peek if you have a minute tonight and appreciate our universe. If you believe in manifestation, today is an ideal day to express your intentions to the universe

I don’t mean to sound like a fool on this, but I’m slightly confused. It can still only be seen at night right?

Dusk till Dawn :full_moon:

The odds on the moon being the exact size in relation to it’s position from the earth, in it’s exact size, and both their exact positions/distances from the Sun and it’s exact size, to be able to create different perfect eclipses…are…

Wait - how can it be a blue moon if its August 19? I thought a blue moon is the second full moon of the month, so it would have to at least be August 29, no?

I was just wondering the same thing. Here is the explanation.

It looks like a Super Bowl Honolulu Blue moon. But maybe that’s just me and my one track mind…

A super-blue moon happens once every 10-20 years

It’s happening this year. Our year. The Lions year. Youre right @Sofatso Let’s call it what it is

I thought this was really cool

Monday’s moon is also referred to as a sturgeon moon, a term originating from Native Americans, who called August’s full moon the sturgeon moon after the fish, which could be caught in the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain during this part of the summer.

I agree! There’s a reference to the Great Lakes as well!

I have it on good authority that this is indeed the case.

I guess I’m not sure what I’m supposed to be looking at or where I am supposed to be looking. I have pretty damn clear skies here and all I see is a normal looking moon at a normal looking distance.

Rephrase: I understand what everything is. Moon, supermoon, blue etc. I guess it’s just not happening here unless I’m missing something. I’m on the wrong part of Earth apparently.
