Anyone get the sense that Arnold seemed gassed in the second half? I don’t agree with the assessment that there were bogus calls. In the past? Yes, Arnold has been on the wrong side of a shit call. But last night, as @Adrian pointed out, it was blatantly bad.
But I also got the sense that he was winded. He fell down multiple times, and struggled when getting out of his block (could be what Sauce meant with his advice). Aaron Glenn’s defense is not for the faint of heart at cornerback. Just ask Carlton Davis.
Anyway, point is: if it’s conditioning, this isn’t as big of an issue. I don’t think Terrion was doing this shit the last three weeks, but maybe I wasn’t paying as close attention.
I disagree that “none” of the penalties were borderline, the last one specifically was a joke of a call he didnt even grab the guy he just fell and was called
I will say that play count was also 78 to 50 and top skewed towards Seattle obviously. Defense was clearly gassed but i think overall davis and arnold played well despite the flags.
Robertson really impressed me last night. Far as I could see his coverage was tight and he, unlike everyone else, actually made some nice ope-field tackles.
Arnold looks like he can be a good one, but not only is he SUPER “handsy,” but he has quickly established a reputation for it, which means he won’t get away with much.
Absolutely the case, there’s almost an expectation now that rookies come in and immediately perform at a Pro Bowl level now. In the real world there’s a major adjustment period for most rookies. His positioning and reads have been fantastic, very pleased so far.
Glad to hear it - certainly was last night in coverage and absolutely did not shy away from providing some serious run support. “demoting” Arnold now probably isn’t a great idea, but he probably should have been brought off the bench to begin his Lions career. All those penalties are a problem.
