Behind a pay wall. What’s the scoop?

Could not read the article, but a separate article came out a week ago on NBC PFT.

Some quotes …

A detective testified during the hearing that Hudson is part of Arnold’s security team, and that Williams is believed to be Arnold’s cousin. (It’s unknown whether that claim is accurate.) Hudson and Williams were, per the report, arrested for armed robbery and kidnapping in connection with an apparent attempt to recover property that allegedly had been stolen from a home rented by Arnold. The missing items include high-end bags, guns, a cellphone, and $100,000 in cash.

Three men allegedly were lured to an apartment by two women, at which time Hudson and Williams allegedly beat them and held them at gunpoint.

“They are battering the three victims, and they are pistol whipping them, and they are taking a handgun and sticking it into the mouth of a victim,” the detective testified. The detective added that the men who allegedly inflicted the beating were demanding the return of the stolen property.

Updated it with a paywall-free version I think

Again, I’m taking the fact that this hasn’t become a wall to wall story as good news for the Lions.

Updated free version worked, thanks

From what I’ve read, Arnold may get through this with no more than a slap on the wrist.

But the Lions will nail his ass to the wall – such stupid thinking by all of them

Arnold clearly has some serious growing up to do

Eliminate some friends as well

I thought I read somewhere that these guys’ connection to Arnold is pretty tenuous… like they rented a short-term rental from him.

Wherever I got this from also put me under the impression that there were mistaken family relationships implied; like, they say a guy is his cousin who actually isn’t (or something like that).

No idea if this any of this is true or not.

Edit:

Reading is fundamental. From the story linked above:

UPDATE 11:58 a.m. ET : Fox 13 has added an editor’s note to its story. “A representative for Terrion Arnold responded and clarified that Hudson is not a security guard for Arnold, and that Williams is not Arnold’s cousin,” the note explains.

So their relationship to Arnold is roughly…

Apparently, this article is the result of some investigative journalism from Bianchi, and makes the whole situation look worse. And based on the details, I’d say that’s true.

Meanwhile.

Prior to the incident on Feb. 4, Arnold was a victim of two robberies, in which thieves stole high-end bags, guns, jewelry, a cellphone, and $100,000 in cash, according to a police report filed by Arnold with the Largo Police Department on Feb. 3.

Old news. Everything I’ve heard from connected sources is that articles were written that jumped the gun on a potential connection to TA but only information to come out since then waters down the connections down to the incident occurring in one of TA’s rentals. It was described like if a crime was committed in your VRBO/AirBnB. Nothing is showing an actual connection to TA.

Am I the only one ok with this?

Right…let’s go with the version that it occurred somewhat like alleged (which again, I heard that TA actually is not really connected)….but let’s just pretend it happened exactly as is. Someone steals that amount of stuff from you. Would not your instinct be to go at ‘em? I know…I know, the right thing to do is let law enforcement handle it…but still…

Maybe this story is a whole lot of nothing but …

You’d be okay if they DID take matters into their own hands?

Yes.

@Zeeze I think you’re read a “not” where one doesn’t exist. :wink:

So there is more to the first post on this topic?

“Take matter into their own hands” is zero detail

TA could have been in on it and I still won’t believe he’s going to jail or getting suspended until it happens

Not because I believe TA is innocent of wrong doing but because the law doesn’t apply to rich people

Let me see if I’ve got the general situation settled here-

Sometime about 3 weeks ago, Arnold had a lot of cash and guns and other personal property stolen out of an Airbnb that he owns and rents out.

About 10 to 14 days later two guys get arrested for armed robbery allegedly trying to retrieve the stolen items.

Some local journalistic insect makes a broad inference that Arnold has some level of involvement or knowledge and of the perpetrators caught in the follow-up robbery or somehow connected to him and possibly a relation.

Arnold releases a PR statement a few days later disavowing knowledge, connection to either person and no familial relation to either person.

Izzat essentially correct?

Ok.

MAN THERE ARE A WHOLLLLLE LOTTA UNASKED OR ANSWERED QUESTIONS HERE BOYS.

What you want in these kinds of situations is clarity, control and conclusion. Ain’t none of that going on with this so far. That’s not a good thing for TA or the Lions.

Some questions I would have at this point?

Is the Airbnb his or no?

If it’s his why would a person store six figures of cash and guns in a place where you are literally renting out to just about anyone. And when I say that I mean the vetting through Airbnb is as close to nonexistent as possible.

Who did he rent to? What are those people’s backgrounds from a previous intersection with law enforcement standpoint? How did they find $100,000 in cash and guns there? How did they know to look for them if they didn’t come across them randomly? Why did they take them instead of either leaving it the hell alone, calling Airbnb or notifying someone else, like TA.

Why didn’t TA file a police report for the theft? He actually may have and we just don’t have that part of the story that’s the most answerable I think of these questions.

If these people used their own IDs to rent it then TA would know who they are. So with the cops. So if the cops were called why hadn’t the perpetrators been located arrested in the property potentially returned? If they didn’t use their own IDs, then what is the likelihood they knew that the booty was there already? How?

Who are the two lunkheads? What is their law enforcement adjacent background? Did they just randomly happen upon the previously randomly happened upon six figures of cash guns and other personal property? Did they know who they were robbing? If so how?

I’ll stop there but, to me, there are big gaps in the picture, definitely gaps in some stories and also gaps in both the reporting and in the overall scenario that the above questions arise from. There’s a lot of room for a lot of not so great when these questions get answered.
