Th OLine Committee Reviews Eagles' Game

They speak to the OLine failures and what should’ve been done vs the Eagles. Good listen. Exposes the flaws with the current OLine.

Spoiler Alert: Interior OL…sheesh!

I need to watch but do they suggest using a FB or bringing an H-back to sit behind maybe the tackle or guard to be able to slide over and help out the middle? Because something needed to be done.

They don’t. But they do show how small the room for error is. And, how it can be corrected.

Pff grades (take it for what its worth)

GG - 20th/37 center
Mahogany- 70th/80 Guard
Rateledge 73rd/80 guard.

Grahm just under average.
Rat and Hogs virtually worst in NFL.

So last year the lions were above average pass blocking IOL. (12th give or take)

To virtually last this year

I believe that GG is NOT an average player at ANY position. He can be good depth. But, he shouldn’t be playing unless it’s an emergency (it is). He’s just not strong or mobile enough anymore. Mahogany and Ratledge are just pups.

Beating this drum all season. GG was middling in his prime. He is well past his prime.

The problem is I think it is going to get worse before it gets better, even next year.
GG is going down hill as is Decker. Mahogs and Rat should get better, but having a declining LT and Center does not bode well for next year. We sure are not replacing them in the 2026 draft

Frank Ragnow was a big loss.

I think GG is a fine backup at this point in his career.

If Glasgow is the third best IOL starter you have then that is more than fine. Problem is we have guys learning on the job either side of him - they will both improve for it and are taking their licks but it’s tough in the short term

We have a MASSIVE drop-off from Frank. We all had to know this was coming.

Tate will be a poor man’s Ragnow, my guess, by the end of this year.

GG is a trooper.

Decker/Manu are the LT current and into the future.

Decker __ Ragnow ____ Sewell was as good as existed in the NFL.

Decker _____ Rat ________Sewell will have us back to respectability.

Manu, Yode, Mahogany, Frazier as Guards & Backups isn’t horrible. We could use a little more beef, but I’m not freaking out. Then again, I’ve been mourning the loss of Frank for a couple years already. There was a moment in a game where I seen him sitting on the bench…. this mass of humanity that put me in mind of Suh his last season in college where you just recognize how imposing they were on the field. There’s no way you lose Ragnow and not feel it. We’re going to rip the band-aid off at some point and Tate is going to make an immediate difference, IMO at Center. Not Ragnow-different, but a difference.

I wonder do we make a move to get a vet in on a one year deal like the Zeitler last year - both Browns guards will hit the market - Teller and Bitinio. Teller at RG between Rat and Sewell would be some sight in the run game

What a mess. Then we are without LaPorta which leaves us with Brock Wright who can’t block anyone. Again what a mess.

I understand you can’t make a deal if one is not there to make… but damn an iOL at the deadline who could fortify our interior for the rest of this season sure would have made a ton of sense,

I think the best way to improve is for our guys to practice and play together as a unit. As yet injuries have not allowed this to happen. Things do not look good unless Decker can get healthy and play better. If that happens and we get Mahogany back we would be ok. I do wish we had a TE that could block so we could at least run the ball. Outside of Ragnow I don’t think there was an IOL that was going to step in and make this unit better right away. These guys have to get healthy and play better or we are outside looking in come playoff time.

unspeakable line issues*

They kind of have to over pay a free agent for one of those positions I think because the draft can only really fix one at a time.

And the draft is a problem just due to urgency. I don’t think they can wait 2 years for a center or even a year.

Now if Tater can slide over and be a top 10 center well then things get much easier to fix.

All these issues are correctable! Tate is a rookie going through growing pains. We have a second string LOG. Graham is okay but needs to tighten up his technique. Tate is as lap beat up.

We have a great OL coach in Hank Fraley. He knows what the issues are and he is working to get this corrected. The Pack, Vikes and now Eagles exposed this weakness. Hank has to find a way for this OL to recognize these issues better and faster. The season is on the line.

Same. It’s surprising to me that just keep try hard guys as TE depth instead of having a legit blocking option on the roster. I don’t quite get that one

I agree. Hank must adjust to the talent on the OLine. GG isn’t Ragnow. Tate isn’t Zeitler. Mahogany is, in my eyes, still a rookie.

We MUST find out what we have in Miles Frazier, THIS SEASON. Just like last season with Hog. That way, we can plan the OLine’s future as we find an adequate replacement for Decker.

We are what we are this season. I’m hoping, we can survive this season and still make the playoffs. Then, focus on the future.
