If I’m going to eat something sweet, it’s going to be pie–pumpkin, apple, or cherry.

There’s one time per year where it matches well to a meal. That little bit that gets mixed in a little bit with the potatoes, stuffing and gravy add just a little brightness to the flavor, making those next few bites that you shouldn’t be taking possible.

I am not a cranberry fan either, but I agree with Jamie Erdahl, to say you would give it to the dogs could have been left out, and is disrespectful to the preparers of the meal. If you don’t like it just don’t put it on your plate, and be respectful of the cook or cooks. There are plenty family members who do like the cranberries, no need to give it to the dogs. WOW.

It does, everyone knows its upside down.

My grandparents had the cranberry sause in the can, the jelly stuff every Thanksgiving. I always have some out of tradition. Im the only one

There’s a world of difference between a good sauce made from berries and the canned gel stuff.
I can do without that gel. But a good sauce, bring it on.

2 types of homemade cranberry sauce almost every year. One cooked on the stove, and 1 raw.

The raw one is so good, I’ll eat it on almost anything. It’s. That. Good.

Not a big cranberry sauce fan. I will, however indulge in a spoonful tomorrow lol.

Now, all the other fixins I am ALL in on. Let the feast begin, after a Lions victory naturally.

Cranberries
Blood Orange
Blood Orange rind, shredded, lightly burned to get oils to pop
Honey
Cinnamon
Touch of clove
Touch of black pepper
Splash of Bourbon

Sweetener of choice to taste

Simmer

Blood Oranges are hard to find and spendy, regular will do, with a touch of raspberry or pomegranate juice.

That sounds outstanding Weasel…here’s mine:

Cranberries
Whole orange (rind and all)
Ginger
Sugar

Blend in food processor. I’m telling you, you can’t go wrong with this.

Also, I have NEVER and would not EVER eat the stuff out of a can…that :poop:’s nasty.

Ginger is a great call. Love that.

I’m not a big pie guy, but my wife bought a cherry pie from Grand Traverse Pie Co.
OMG, it was freaking awesome :+1:!!!
I could have eaten that thing for hours.

Got a caramel drizzled apple pie sitting in the fridge.
Turkey, sorry, not fried. Candied Yams, mashed potatoes, Broccoli, Sweet buns (what else would Mrs Sweet make).
It’s going to be a small gathering this year. We had the whole family last year.

We’re flying down to Tampa and going on a Thanksgiving Day boat cruise for dinner. I would imagine it’s going to be rather traditional fare.
