Exactly. It’s a one-off. Hell even if we tried a fake from it, I think the D would assume fake and it wouldn’t work.
Hmm, which actually, means maybe it would work again? In a I-clearly-cannot-drink-the-wine-in-front-of-you type of stalemate?

That’s a OBen-wan jedi set up. We’re going to run that play, again.
Well, we’re going to line up like that, again.
I don’t want the Ra play to be ruled a catch. That’s disgusting if that is considered a catch with 2 feet in bounds.

It’s also brilliant in that it’s cognitive overhead for the defensive preparation. One more alignment to consider, more keys to remember, etc.
Petzing is beginning to play Chess. This is going to be fun.
We can pound the rock all game, but then, here comes the boom.
Disagree. You can line up in exactly the same formation and run the ball. You don’t have to limit the formation to just two possible outcomes with Saint. That play just opened up a whole new can of worms. Now will they run it often? No,I don’t think so. But I bet they run at least 3 variations by the end of the year.
I meant throwing it to him was a one-off end result, that if we do use it again it would be in some other capacity… which I think maybe talked myself out of.
I heard the same thing and I actually loved that play and how Goff & Saint executed it
That’s what Ben used to do so well. Set up a home run when he thought the defense was expecting a play they had seen before. Its probably an art as to know exactly when to do it.
Pump fake then turn and toss to Gibbs going the other direction… Boom 80 yard TD
My implication was the defense wouldn’t buy the pump fake, they’d all be expecting the fake too.
Which is why throwing it to ARSB might just work again.
Or they throw it to him and he throws it himself across to gibbs or Jamo
Him catching it at full speed with guys crashing toward him and THEN throwing it himself would be some feat. Maybe like, a shovel pass to someone who had just been blocking for him right in front of him, but that would probably be for minimal gain.
Who says he has to be running at full speed? He could line up there, fake the run, step back catch and throw
Well, again, my original response was to the idea that “we’ll never be able to run the exact same play again, it was a one-off,” which I agreed with. Any other use of it would have to be the sort of trick you’re talking about, and the defense would know it.
It’s just that while thinking about it I realized that Petzing would know that the defense would be looking for trick plays as well, meaning the original play might just work again. When you said throw it I assumed you meant off of that.
In any event… Between the play and the side car formations… They’re forcing the defense into reacting instead of dictating, which is always an advantage. Idk what they have planned, but I definitely don’t think it’s a one off and they have a plan for that look again in the future
I think we’ll use the formation again for sure, never meant to imply otherwise, I just don’t know that we’ll ever run the play again. Which is what @Sheepish said in the post I originally responded to:
Uncertainty is a weapon… Love it!
When I saw the formation that’s what I was thinking. St. Brown about to pass this ball.
I also want to see us run a tackle around handoff at some point. The bears tried to hand it to a lineman last week but got flagged because it was a forward handoff.
