That ARSB Play

Saint lined up 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage and caught that Goff pass / lateral with a full head of steam and picked up a 3rd and 8. Never saw a play like that. Very inventive. I can’t believe it worked.

I believe they said it was done often in either the arena league or CFL. Either way it was definitely cool to see something different

Seems like it could’ve easily been a pick 6 as well, must’ve been something they could check out of if they didn’t like the defensive alignment. Definitely looked like arena football

In Arena you are running BEFORE the ball is snapped. ARSB had to wait UNTIL the ball was snapped before her could go forward.

Also, since it was backwards… ARSB could’ve thrown it to a WR/TE/RB as well… Or back to Goff

Very cool play, looked like something out of the CFL, though as has been mentioned they get to start running before the snap. ARSB has to wait until the ball is snapped.

Also sets it up for something funky in future games where it’s not thrown to him.

When Goff first released the pass, I thought he lead Ra too much. Ra certainly had a head of steam when he caught that ball!

I hated the play. Loved the outcome

Chip Kelly has apparently been working with some similar play designs at Northwestern this year.

Next time same formation. And Goff pump fakes that pass to a sprinting St. Brown. Guaranteed wide open other guys after studying that play by defenses.

He stole it telepathically from Chip Kelly.

For sure. He’s using ESP to read this thread right now, actually.

In robotic voice: “I owe Lionpile a reach around”

That would be a fun play to go deep on. Goff looks at saint and after the db jumps it, saint just keeps running for the bomb.

a thing of beauty.

All jokes aside.

Petzing killed it today in that 2nd half

Magic ! it was like St said “hey CJ top this shit.” and St Brown was a mile downfield and a epic reception off that BOMB—just bad ass !

We’ve always waited for a coordinator who could make halftime adjustments. Petzing did exactly that with run-plays and blocking schemes that consistently gashed Minnesota’s defensive front the entire second half. Hats off to Vaki too. Huge step up.

so it was a pretty cool darn play that you can’t do again unless it’s as a fake. have arsb do the same thing and this time it’s a screen to gibbs instead and a full speed arsb can blow up a cb coming in.
