Indiana has to get a bye as of right now.
Its hard for me to bump them up.
Those top 6. All really close.
Only 3 teams that absolutely deserve a bye.
TA&M, OSU, and Miami.
Ole Miss, Indiana, & TTech are the next 3.
And because A&M and OSU already have a buy from the SEC&B10. I went with the B12 leader.
It will obviously play out the next 8 weeks. But right now this is how i see it.
It shouldn’t be. Autzen might be the hardest place to go into and get a W. Texas Tech sure as hell wouldn’t and most everybody realizes that. It’s a massive win by Indiana. Far beyond anything that TTU has sniffed.
The problem is people have rose glasses on.
See everyone says Missouri or South Carolina or Arkansas are tough teams in the SEC.
But in reality teams like Northwestern have been more successful in the last 20 years.
Yes its Indianas first “top 5” win in decades.
But Oregon is like 2-41 vs top 5 teams.
Oregon likely wont be ranked in the top 25 by years end. So sure Oregon was top 5 at the time. But not by the end of the year.
Its why a voting system is very flawed. Because perception and recency bias is such a massive issue.
I have a computer point system to keep track.
Those top 3 are in 1 tier
Next 5 are the next
Indiana, Ole Miss, Texas Tech, Alabama, Georgia Tech. Then everyone else in the top 24 are right there within the margins
Yes Indiana is the top of that tier but its not a wide margin.
