The Jets are the Lions of the AFC

Both teams are similar IMO:

  1. 2 high energy, intense 2nd year coaches. Both coaches have done a really good job. I wanted Saleh but am so happy Lions got Campbell. Both guys deserve a ton of credit.

  2. Physicality. These 2 teams are the most physical in the league. Only teas that play with as much physicality are the Niners and Eagles. Both these teams take no prisoners. This will be the most physical game the Lions play all season.

  3. Both teams have drafted very well the last couple of seasons. Jets got Sauce, Garrett Wilson and Hall this draft. 3 top flight talents.

  4. Both teams have QBs who are not the answer long term

  5. Both teams scratching and clawing for a playoff spot.

These 2 teams match up very similar IMO and both are on the right path. This game is the ultimate measuring stick game. Both of these teams are building the right way… this should be a great game.

the jets are nowhere near as handsome as the Lions. Ridiculous

Their fans seem to have a similar mindset as ours about this game. They’re more confident because they’re at home and outdoors, which I get, but they’re also dealing with more key injuries than we are.

If Quinnen Williams doesn’t play, or if he does play and he’s not his normal self, we should be able to run the ball. I like our ability to be able to throw underneath their zone they like to run, and the O line is going to have to step up so we can run the ball.

95 and 57 have to be accounted for in the run game, and don’t throw at 1. Pretty simple. Right?

Ben Johnson is going to get a good gameplan together. That much I’m confident in.

Except No 4 (where you lost that silly debate in another thread), pretty much accurate.

Goff QB rating this year - 97.9 and Cousins QB rating this year - 91.2

Yet Cousins is an elite talent and Goff sucks… haha right! How many super bowls has Cousins been to again!?

Man, I just saw that hit mike white took… that was brutal. His body formed a right angle or worse.

Gonna be interesting to see who they play, but I expect we won’t find out until Sunday. They are gonna milk that injury as questionable all week. Whatever that injury happens to be. I’d be amazed if he didn’t break some ribs that was brutal

So is this guy a Vikings troll or not?

  1. is wrong. Don’t compare the dumpster fire that is the jets qb situation w the Goff situation. Goff is actually a good human being and a proven qb and the question is if he is ELITE. Wilson is a douche and his team hates him and shouldn’t be an NFL starter. Goff very well could be the long term answer.

jets defense a lot better, super bowl contender kinda defense. Offense is shit. You put the lions offense w that jets defense and you have a super bowl favorite.

Hmmm, who’s the Jets starting QB this week? Or for the rest of the year. You and I (to a degree) need to temper that Goff is not an issue.

The team most like the Lions is the Seahawks. Surprise offense, crappy defense, fun coach.

I have been critical of Goff at times, however I don’t understand how a guy leading a top 5 offense gets so much questions. I mean the running game has not been as strong, they’ve won a lot of games in his arm and been in a lot of games on his arm. Goff has been a different QB since he came back from injury last year and Lynn got demoted.

He’s a QB leading a top 5 offense who has been to a Super Bowl and led previous top offenses, and he’s 28 which is young and usually the time QBs really start to hit their prime/maturity in the league.

With all the disrespect goff gets and how he was thrown away like yesterdays garbage, sent to detroit to die and continuously called a bridge qb etc. I want nothing more than for him to prove it all to be wrong and come out the other side having lead the team that nobody wants to believe in or love to something special. Goff is the perfect qb for detroit, if he can make it happen he will be a legend but still struggle to get the notoriety that he would deserve. Hoping it happens… we shall see

Quick side note to everyone, I’ve noticed even if you are out of likes you can still do different reactions… so I’m out of likes but consider the other emojis likes too!

Anyway, you are absolutely right about Goff being the perfect QB for Detroit for everything you stated. And the other cool thing about Goff is he doesn’t seem to care about stats and recognition - he just wants to win. He doesn’t care if he throws for 5 TDs or 0 and hands off every TD to a RB, he just wants to do well and the team to do well.

He’s a very down to earth guy and a perfect fit for Detroit. You said it very well
