They did. According to Sheil on the Ringer Podcast Mike Tennanbaum is Head of the 33rd team and he insinuated that Mike will be involved in the search. It’s on the most recent episode.
Reminds me of a Dick Vitale interview I saw quite a while ago where he was trying to take at least a little credit for the Pistons success of the 80s. He said when he got fired he told Bill Davison that he needed to hire a basketball guy as a GM. Well, duh.
Remember when the Lions turned to the league to help with their GM search and they came back to suggest Baseball Bat Bob? Yikes.
Now, if only the Bears could hire Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy to lead the Bears search, we’d be golden. If they hired 33rd, that would be alright too. Tannenbaum was awful as a GM and is just as bad at his expert analysis takes. Check this bit of wisdom out. Bart’s response after Mike’s genius assessment was epic.
