“I made a mistake and disrespected the Lions, disregarded the years of struggles and heartbreak of everyone that has wanted this team to succeed.
[slowly removes pencil from behind his ear and looks at it before violently snapping it in half]
We are the Detroit Lions and not the New England Patriots! I am a Detroit Lion and WE will succeed as Detroit Lions!”
He would still be coach. Rod Wood’s marketing people could have sold that.
