This is spot on. I have a co-worker who is a Vikings fan, and she never hesitates to tell me how much she is rooting against the Lions. Even last week, it was 100% Go Pack, beat the Lions. And I am just sitting back going…

I have a new job and sit by a Bears fan. She’s really into football, fantasy football, the whole deal. I told her when I started I was a Lions fan. I’m starting to feel bad for her.
NEVER GIVE IN!! She deserves all the gloom and sadness for rooting for that team. Stay strong fellow Den brother/sister.
Her fantasy team didn’t do too well. I didn’t have it in me to tell her if she drafted less Bears and more Lions she could have done a lot better.
Its crazy that the Bears have recently taken 3 QBs high in the draft and fired their head coaches soon afterwards!
Perfect ending.
Classic. Bravo!

I live in Arizona where it seems like 1/4 of the population here is made up of Bears fans.
They were convinced they would beat the 49ers and thought we got way too lucky on Thanksgiving.
We got lucky that they are bad at football. The other teams in the division had that kind of luck vs the Lions for decades.
She deserves her woe…she chose to be a Bears fan. (How many times have I heard that in my life about being a Lions fan)
My Niece is dating a Bears fan and he brought him to Thanksgiving dinner. I found the game difficult to enjoy. Told my family I was going to go to the game next year. It drove me nuts.
The Bears have a ton of talent. They have to fix their coaching.
But the front office and coaching staff always seem at odds to me.
They should have hired Harbaugh.
I was trying to explain the Bears roster decisions to my mom at Thanksgiving. Saying it out loud to a non-football person made it sound even worse. First I talked about how the Bears didn’t pay Montgomery, so we are happy because he is super good for us. But then I had to explain that the Bears now have Swift, who used to be a Lion…but the Bears paid MORE to bring in Swift than what it would have cost to keep Montgomery. David Montgomery came to use on a 3 year $18M deal. One year removed from that decision the Bears brought in Swift for 3 years $24M.
They made a similar odd decision with Roquan Smith. They chose not to pay him but gave Trumaine Edmunds close to the same money.
They don’t believe in their own guys.
Or, they operate on offseason headline juice.
Shiny new toy syndrome. Except they’ll keep Poles. Good.
Morons.
It really is odd and it sends the wrong message to the players.
Take care of your own should be a top priority.
Building the trenches should be a top priority.
They’re all about the flash.
Then you have a FO and Coaching staff that seem at odds on how to build the roster.

Agree. Here is my thing on Chicago. The biggest issue they have is, they truly believe they are great. They constantly believe they are just one player away from being a top tier team. They are never looking at the full roster, they are looking for the one guy who will be a quick fix and take their roster to glory.
I had concerns last year when Poles traded the #1 pick, that maybe Chicago was getting it, and were focusing on building a team. Then they end up with the #1 pick again. However, as soon as I heard they were locking on Williams, the concerns left. Instead of continuing to build the roster, they were going to grasp for “that one guy who will fix everything” again.
They do not know how to value players. They undervalue their own players and feel that they are easily replaceable, so they don’t pay them. They then overvalue players on other teams, and think if they can get them in a Bears uniform, they will be even better than what they had!
We watched the Lions do this same stuff for decades. I am glad it’s happening to another team for a change, and the fact that it’s the Shitcago Bears, makes that cake frosting taste so much sweeter.

My favorite Bears move was when they traded an early 2nd rounder for Chase Claypool. He was absolutely terrible. Caught 18 passes total as a Bear. Now completely out of the nfl.
The Steelers drafted Joey Porter Jr. With the bears draft pick… Da Bears

This is made even funnier from an article a couple of weeks ago before the Thanksgiving game. The writer was asked if you could pick any defensive player from the Lions for the Bears, who would you take? The answer, was Brian Branch. The same guy they could’ve taken with their own second round pick, but getting Chase Claypool was a much bigger priority.
