With a Batman and Robin of Hutch and a resurgent Alim and then waves of disrupters of all shapes and sizes could we finally be looking at the sort of pass rush that can cover up some back end warts?
Flip side, it’s just week 1 of the preseason. There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and Preseason NFL football.
The Bengals are indeed the Bengals. And their OL has been problematic. Though they have invested quite a bit and I would imagine their baseline objective for the game was to keep Burrow clean. That they couldn’t do so against our backups is an intriguing case for some optimism IMO.
They’ve gotten better for sure. And it’s not like SGH and AH didn’t pass the eye test. They looked legitimately spry even by regular season NFL standards. IMO of course.
I would typically agree but we’re talking about one of the most QB dependent teams trying to protect the league’s most fragile QB. As an OL are you really going to half ass it in that situation?
Yep, I’m cautiously optomistic with the current regime/team, but ultimately it’s all never ending hopium until there’a at least an NFC champ banner hanging, and preferably a SB trophy in that dusty ass, cobweb ridden trophy case.
I mean, it’s not my first choice…but seeing as how this team has never even been to a SB, I’m like a starving bumb fighting over a piece of moldy cheese
My fear is that we’ll become the dolphins of the 90’s. By the time they build a championship defense their offense had degraded to what the defense used to be.
