The turdiest of turds is a Klingon for 2025

And I don’t mean in a qapla/gagh/batleth kind of way.

Excerpts from The Athletic;

The Browns failed to score 20 points in any Watson start this season. They averaged 4 yards per play with him, the lowest mark in the league for any quarterback who made at least five starts, according to TruMedia. It was the third-lowest output by any Browns quarterback who made at least five starts in a season since the team returned to the league in 1999. Only Charlie Frye and Doug Pederson had worse production.

If this is the end of his Browns career, his three-year tenure in Cleveland will conclude with a 61 percent completion rate, 3,365 passing yards, 19 touchdowns, 12 interceptions and more settled lawsuits than games played. Watson’s EPA (expected points added) per dropback with the Browns was -0.19, according to TruMedia, which ranks 197th out of 201 NFL quarterbacks since 2000 (minimum 15 starts). The only quarterbacks who were worse: Zach Wilson (2021-24 New York Jets), John Skelton (2010-12 Arizona Cardinals), Blaine Gabbert (2011-13 Jacksonville Jaguars) and JaMarcus Russell (2007-09 Raiders). Watson is the only name on that list who wasn’t on a rookie deal.

Because Cleveland still owes him in excess of $170 million against its cap sheet, the Browns were expected to carry him on the 2025 roster before the reinjury. At the very least, the second Achilles tear means they could place him on injured reserve so he isn’t consuming a spot on the 53-man roster. In addition, Cleveland can get insurance relief against his salary and a portion of the cap hit on the $92 million still owed to him.

Worst trade in NFL history.

Worse than the Herschel Walker trade.

Worse than the Ricky Williams trade.

Even Rusty Hilger had one 20+ point game in 1988.

Even Jeff Komlo had two 20+ point games in 1979 for a 2-12 team.

I 100% agree here, and will stack some more on it. The Herschel Walker trade built the Dallas Cowboys, but it didn’t cripple the Vikings. The Ricky Williams trade screwed the Saints for a year, but the trade didn’t really help the Redskins or hurt the Saints all that much.

Just listen to the terms of the Browns trade.
Cleveland gets:
Deshaun Watson (already an L there)
2024 6th Round pick

Houston Texans get:
2022 first round pick and 4th round pick
2023 first round pick and third round pick
2024 first round pick and 4th round pick

Remember how we all made fun of the movie Draft Day because there is no way a team would trade THREE first round draft picks for a player? Cleveland said hold my beer, and traded 3 first round picks, a third round pick, and 2 fourth round picks.
Keep in mind. These trade terms, were AFTER the sexual assault charges came to light. So if anything, this was a discounted rate! Absolute insanity.

So right there, the trade is a horrible, multi year franchise crippling trade. Now, I go one step further.

The Deshaun Watson contract, is also the worst contract ever signed in NFL history. Yep, finally Albert Hanesworth is off the hook. Here we go on that one. The Cleveland Browns signed Deshaun Watson to a 5 year, 230 million dollar FULLY GUARANTEED contract. For a guy with multiple sexual assault allegations upcoming… If there was any doubt about the truth to the allegations, remember that Deshaun Watson lost tons of endorsements, including from Nike in 2021 before this trade ever happened.

All of this happened, because Cleveland had to get rid of Baker Mayfield. A guy who took them to the playoffs, beat the hated Pittsburgh Steelers in a wild card game, and had a bad year because he played through serious injury. Cleveland said Baker was too immature (probably true at the time, but he was also young) and “they wanted an adult at the quarterback position”. I can’t even make that up.

The draft picks screwed Cleveland for 3 full seasons. The contract screws them for an additional two. Now this year, Deshaun tears his achilles and then retears it. Cleveland cannot sign anyone decent to replace him because they have no money. I think the trade and contract is without a doubt, the worst transaction in NFL history.

There is a reason why Browns fans cheered when Deshaun was getting carted off the field. I still believe they were right to do so, and I fully blame the Cleveland ownership for that event happening. The Cleveland fans were sick of seeing Watson destroying their team, and the team made it clear nothing was taking Watson off of the field. That is, until Cleveland fans finally caught a break.

Haslem is a nepo baby apex turd. Ironically, his dad is a native Detroiter.

At least those guys were good.

Too bad he won’t be qb next year for Browns when Lions play them…not that it matters as that is a win for Lions.

All of our games next year should be wins.

I guess there’s pics of him wandering around without his boot on for that achilles tear, could be the perfect loophole for cleveland to get out of that terrible deal because he wasn’t following what he had to do to ensure it healed properly.

The irony in this paragraph is epic. Like only a Billionaire NFL owner could make all of this happen. I am just letting the idea that Watson is more of an adult than Baker roll around in my mouth like a sommelier as it is that tasty. Even the smell is on point…

@StormGuyNovi you are killing it

Scholars agree that this is still the worst trade in NFL history:

Definitely agree. The only one I can think of even close was 3 1st rounders to draft Trey Lance.

What did the 49ers trade for Trey Lance?

49ers get:

  • 2021 first-round pick (No. 3 overall)

Dolphins get:

  • 2021 first-round pick (No. 12 overall)
  • 2022 first-round pick (No. 29 overall)
  • 2022 third-round pick (No. 101 overall)
  • 2023 first-round pick (No. 29 overall)

But they didn’t give him 230 mill guaranteed… So Watson by far the worst

Man, thank god the 49ers did that trade, they’d probably be the top dog in the NFC if that had drafted studs with those picks.

I heard that the Browns are trying to weasel their way out of what’s left of the contract

■■■■ that, you signed him, knowing he was a turd.

Very satisfying conclusion

I agree however they may have an out.

He reinjured his Achilles because he wasnt in a boot. A boot that was mandated by the team dr. They may be able to terminate his contract

I know just the weasel for the job! He started the thread
