The Yankees New Torpedo Bats

Why are they called torpedo bats? Torpedos are uniform in width right?

There is no doubt in my mind that it is helping the hitters. If it wasn’t, they wouldn’t be using them, and other teams wouldn’t be ordering them.

MLB has been trying to figure out a way to increase offense in an era that is being dominated by pitching. Maybe this is the answer.

Yea, that was part of my discussions yesterday regarding these bats. As the analytics have given the pitchers a significant advantage, seemingly, this may help the hitters a “little”.

Although both scouts really didn’t think it would be a significant plus for hitters. They kept pointing out that some of these teams have really bad pitching inspite of the analytical advantages they have

We won’t know how much they help until more teams use them.

I personally think it will make a significant difference. The whole idea just makes too much sense to me.

Barry Bonds had a solution, but it didn’t go over well when everyone found out about it.

I will say with this

Pitchers got to use spider-tack and the sticky stuff on their pitches for their higher Velo rate, batters need something too

IDK how long it will last, but im for it tbh, its allowed for every team, so every team can use them.

Yep, and hitters still need to connect bat to ball in order to get a benefit…
