Why would Reader re-sign with us in this scenario? Why not just sign with the Giants? Are we tricking him into it? Because I suspect his agent will see right through anything like that. Also it’s a bad look.

I think I’d rather just keep our reputation with future free agents than sacrifice it for the honor of trading away a pick in a loaded draft (2027) for a guy who only tries when he feels like it and will only be here for a year.

I think it’s fine to expect a 2nd round draft pick to contribute quite a bit. I find it unlikely we’ll do anything else. You guys all hate Tyler Lacy too, but Tyler Lacy’s gonna play. And Payton Turner is a former 1st rounder who never had a chance to really show what he could do because of injury. Can’t count on him to stay healthy but IF he does he’ll contribute something. And that’s without mentioning Hassanein or Tyre West, which I agree we shouldn’t count on for anything but who could still give us something. We’ve had a lot of guys we weren’t counting on give us something.

I never loved Paschal (in fact I was pretty low on him his draft year), but I understood why we drafted him. And I’m not saying Lacy’s not a JAG, but you need players like him to fill out rosters. What I AM saying is the staff likes him, so despite what you want, you should expect him to play.
Yes, Turner is injured a lot. Hence the qualifier IF.
Hassanein can be both free on the international exemption AND a contributor. They aren’t mutually exclusive. No one clowned you for saying that, we all knew it was true.
Pearce didn’t start at Tennessee either. Josephs barely played. Norman-Lott barely played. Their DL rotation is widely known to be stupid AF cause they’re trying to keep everyone happy so they won’t transfer (at least that’s what the scouts in the McGinn piece said). I’m not expecting much from West, and I said as much, but he’s FAR more likely to give us something than us trading for Thibs.
I don’t agree, but no matter what I think I’m 99.9% sure our FO thinks DE4 is already on the roster.

Lacy was such a JAG that Jacksonville drafted him.

I like the edge group as is. We also have a lot of intriguing guys for the 4th spot. A guy like Thibs could be had at the deadline if need be.
