Great insights:
This absurd stat shows core difference between Yankees’ and Tigers’ offenses (msn.com)
I also think it is much, MUCH, easier to get buy in to Hinch’s method with a younger team than an established veteran team like the Yankees.
As this mornings article, posted in a thread somewhere earlier today, Hinch never did this with his Houston roster. Reason being that his Houston roster was much more talented at the plate and on the mound(at least in number of good starters overall).
The Tigers roster is young, most, if not all, of the hitters are still in their first MLB contract not even through their arbitration years. This is proven when you look at the salary numbers that came up after the Houston series. Point being there is a difference but it was born out of necessity which, in many cases, is the mother of invention…did I remember that cliche right??
I thought the “absurd stat” was going to be the difference in salaries between the Yankees starting lineup and the Tigers starting lineup.
The crazy part is the Tigers 2 most expensive players aint even on the playoff roster.
I hope Javy Baez is done with the Tigers. Just let him go. The Tigers don’t need him.
Maybe pay 90 percent of his salary and trade him for a bag of used jock straps… Might need to pay 95 percent. Some team might take him for peanuts. He can still play defense I think.
They should give Javy to the White Sox for Christmas.
The baseball version of a lump of coal.
