Thoughts on Cameron McGrone LB UofM

McGrone was a five-star prospect, rated among the top-25 overall recruits in the country out of Indianapolis’ Lawrence Central High School when signing with the Wolverines. He redshirted his first year in Ann Arbor, playing in one game on special teams. Moving into the starting lineup for 10 of 13 contests in 2018, McGrone garnered honorable mention All-Big Ten honors with 66 tackles, 9.5 for loss, with four sacks. He started five games in 2020 (26 tackles, two for loss), missing time with an injury before declaring for the 2021 NFL Draft. – by Chad Reuter

Just curious what your guys thoughts are on him and where you project him to be drafted?

Strong first year took a step back the second year while at UM.
Although he wouldn’t be the first UM defensive player who took a step back under D Brown.

Think he goes 5th or 6th round with potential to be good or above in his second or third year in the league.

Showed promise as a sophomore, looked lost last year. Not sure what he’s thinking coming out early. Late round prospect just because he’s a good athlete. But NFL teams dont have a ton of patience for prospects. Should have stayed another year.

His younger brother Phillip plays too and is supposed to be a handful.
