Chris isn’t spending
See, I want a much better lefty than what we have. I would like Finnegan back in a sweetheart 3/36ish type deal. Bregman at 5/160. Skub at 10/400 starting in 26 so it reolaces laat arby year.
Bout 200m with Flaherty opt in.
Swap Flaherty’s 20m in 26 to Mize in 27+, Jobe takes slot.
Swap Javy’s 24m to Greene in 28+. Rainier takes slot.
Swap Briceno for Tork on long term payroll in 28.
Now you have stable roster and payroll through 29-31 depending how things swing.
I wouldn’t be shocked to see Cleveland get involved in Bregman and possibly Seattle (Suarez plays third for them right?).
I just don’t think Bregman will come to Detroit, Fenway is a much friendlier park and so is the Bronx.. I do think he may be someone we could use for the clubhouse leadership.
If they were to trade Skubal this offseason do any potential teams have mlb ready 3rd baseman and SP?
As others have mentioned, the Mets probably make the most sense. They have 2 young third baseman in Baty and Vientos that I’m sure we would be interested in. They also have MLB ready starting pitching to get it done.
Even though others have shut me down, I still think the Phillies could be in play. They have been trying to trade 3rd baseman Alec Bohm for 2 years, and they have a couple of highly rated prospects that I like.
Austin Riley and Schwellenbach from Atlanta, assuming an extension.
Bohm and Painter Philly.
Baty I dont think is any better than Max Anderson, Vientos is super slumpy streaky strikeouty and is a poor 3b defensively. To get McLean I’d think about it but rather go with more prospects from them.
Baltimore has the prospect depth but I’d rather have Holliday than Westburg.
I’m not doing anything with Philly unless it includes Justin Crawford. I know he doesn’t have much power, but he has a .322 batting average over 4 minor league seasons, including a .334 batting average at AAA last season.
He will also be one of the fastest guys in the league the moment he steps on a MLB field, and is a very good base stealer.
I think that question kept us all up at night.
I’m happy that Harris recognizes the problem and that he will attempt to fix it.
There needs to be at 3 new bats in the lineup. Maybe trade tork or Greene as well
I would…they are one cheap ass team. They trade almost everyone away making any money. Red Sox are gonna open the vault to keep him. Trading Devers away and Bregman walking on them would be hilarious though
I am on the bring back Finnegan. and sign Skub for whatever he wants
Bring in
Luis Arreaz- Bring in our modern day Placido Polanco. We lose a little in the HR department compared to Torres but gain a really solid batter.
Tyler Rogers- Good relief pitcher who does solid against lefties and righties
Micheal Lorenzen- Yes im bringing him back a few years later. Could be a good 5th/LR pitcher.
Arreaz and Rogers will be the costly ones of the 3
Skubal/Mize/Olsen/Melton/Flaherty with a bullpen of Lorenzen/Rogers/Montero/Holton/SGL/Huerter/Finnegan/Vest
C: Dingler R
1b: Torkelson R
2b: Arreaz L
SS: McGonigle L
3b: Vierling R
LF: Greene L
CF: Baez R
RF: Carpenter L
DH: Keith L
Bench:
McKinstry L
Rogers R
Meadows L
Jones R
You would have 5 lefties and 4 righties in your normal hitting lineup.
Our rotation would be right hand heavy(minus Skubal) but our bullpen with 4 lefties in it. along with 4 righties.
My batting lineup is
- McGonigle
- Arreaz
- Carpenter
- Torkelson
- Vierling
- Greene
- Baez
- Dingler
- Keith

Spotrac projects a 4 year $73.5M deal for Edwin Diaz. Comes out to about $18M a year.
I’m comfortable going a lot higher than that to get him. (~$26-$27M)
26 million for a relief pitcher?
Man times have changed.
I definitely don’t think it would take that or that he’s going to sign for that. That’s just what I would be willing to pay for him.

How is this even possible?
Over $250M apart.
Just trade him.
This could also totally just be Scott Boras planting some shit
It has to be years. There is absolutely no way that it’s actually a dollar amount of $250MM. The tigers would have to be offering like 10MM a year lol
