Tigers Free Agency Thread 2025/26

Wow if true. What are they woman’s edible underware and a new spice girl cd

250 MILLION…apart? like the 250 isn’t the offer itself it’s the DIFFERENCE?

■■■■ that shit. Dude is great but only plays every 5th game and we cant’ give him run support anyway.

Trade him (smartly) and our pitching staff takes a hit but we’re still competitive. Get some bats. I’d rather win a 6-5 game than lose a 2-1 game.

This was discussed elsewhere, the offer is when the Tigers tried to buy out a couple of arbitration years last year. Yes it was lowball yes it was stupid as Boras won’t let a Skubal type talent buy out arby years or resign for anything less than an outrageous number.

All about FA for Skubal/Boras. Tigers want him they know what they have to offer him to get it done.

How much did Naylor get?

Reportedly he got 5 years around 100 million.

Nice pay day for the speedy base stealing Canadian

The largely NY media is going to be pissed if Detroit finds a way to sign Skubal. They get hard just thinking about Skubal with the Mets.

yucks eww GIF

I doubt he gets that.

Makes it more likely IMO he accepts our qualifying offer.

At 22 million. I would pass

Article in one of the local papers said it wouldn’t be a shock for him to accept Detroit’s offer. Due to his slow second halves and the injury this season he could rebuild with one more year in Detroit and he really liked playing for Detroit as well.

MLB free agency is such a snoozefest

Wake me up when something happens. Until then 100 rumors a day and jack squat happens

The Dec meetings is when things will start to happen.

Kinda seems like the owners have agreed to wait.

All it would take is 1 crazy owner to start signing everyone and everything would change fast.

The looming lockout is probably a big factor too

I’d personally be happy if he took the QO. He’s in many ways what we need right now.

Pre-hernia Gleyber was one of our best players last season.

I think the thing this team needs than anything else is an alpha in the clubhouse, Bregman would be perfect for that role. This team is so damn young and are missing that veteran established player to lead them. My opinion anyways.

Some of these guys could become that but there is no one in that clubhouse from the position side who fits the bill.

Why not both. Keep Torrez and add Bregman. That lineup would look far different with the young guns coming soon.

I guess so much depends on Skubal though.

Free agents want to know what they are signing up for.

Yep, mentioned that before but Skubal’s future will impact some FA signings for certain.

Not opposed to both by any means and based on the offer Tigers made to Bregman last year, they weren’t either.

It’s tricky cause Bregman aint young. He wants to win now I think. Has won his whole career, never really been on a bad team. But also wants his big final pay day.

He will be 32 before the season starts next year.

Often when the decline begins. How will he age is the question. Missed 50 games last year
