The Tigers are still in play for the Division (aka 3rd Seed). So if they have already clinched a playoff spot prior to that last game, but a last game victory could give them the Division should Skubal pitch in that last game.
And on a side note to that…………..if Hinch decided he he wanted to save Skubal for that first playoff game, do you think Illitch would over rule him in order to try to get that 3rd seed and a couple home playoff games worth of revenue?
