Gonna guess we see Finnegan in 8th and then Vest in the 9th?
Greene is IMO tracking a 7/235+ deal after 2028, at age 28. He came up kinda young and has a couple 120 OPS+ seasons now sandwiched around a 131 OPS+ season. Peak is usually age 25-27iah, and with a little change in approach, should be an all star LF through most of his control years. 3 years is a bit away, and salary inflation will make that 34m/yr fairly doable. Also he and Skub are the only ones to pay until next decade, unless they keep Mize.
This is why tack em on runs are important. Solo HR woukd be nice here
These are his OPS numbers last 4 years

The issue I have with Greene is he never seems to come to the plate with the idea of just making contact and putting the ball in play. He rarely shortens up his swing. Every at bat with him has one purpose: hit the home run.
Are you ■■■■■■■ kidding me?
That may be season right there
Blew a 3 - 0 lead. Just pathetic.
Could see that coming. No more plz
Tack
Em
On
Runs.
Also, batters K every AB instead of moving guys around the bases …

Good thing we left the bases loaded in the 4th inning!
Be alot cooler if Riley came through one of the three times he had the chance instead of:

9 runners left on???
Yep and 10K’s
So glad to see the umpire call a ball on a clear strike and to watch hinch sit there with his thumb up his ass. No chirping at the ump. Just bend over and take it. These guys have the fire of a half dead house plant.
Yup OPS+ takes those and compares them to league average. 120+ means his 2023 .796 OPS was 20% better than thr league average.
For comparison, Trammell’s lifetime OPS+ was 110. Gibby, maybe a better comparison, was 123

Can we give up a few and score a few? Or does it only work the other way for us?
And another great performance by our starters wasted because our pen is below average and our hitters generally suck at actual hitting.
