I hate it here.

And that’s actually not true anymore because the White Sox beat the Royals 22-1 yesterday and now have a +18 run differential.

# Detroit Tigers, Game 82: One thing I loved, one thing I didn’t

One thing I didn’t

A tough June continues for Spencer Torkelson, who went hitless for the second straight game to start this series and the third time in four games.

He did have a nice pocket of games at the end of the most recent Chicago series and into the series against New York, stringing together five hits in three games, with a pair of two-hit games.

But in June, he’s now had three two hit games to 11 hitless ones. A decent bit of power is obviously in his game, as 10 of his 19 hits in June have been for extra bases (seven doubles, three home runs) but the overall production has been very, very sparse. He’s also striking out a lot in June.

And that’s just tough. Tough for Torkelson to navigate, tough for AJ Hinch in assembling lineups, tough for a lineup that could surely use consistent power in the heart of the order, and tough for fans in the stands.

And to boot, Torkelson had an 0-fer on Friday against a pitcher in Spencer Arrighetti who has also struggled in June.

To make room on the 40-man roster, the Tigers moved Wenceel Perez, who is dealing with an orbital fracture, to the 60-day injured list. The Tigers optioned Díaz to Triple-A Toledo.

Riley Greene plays every game of first half

The Tigers (34-47) officially crossed the 81-game halfway point of the season in Thursday’s 2-1 loss to Houston.

Though it has been mostly gloomy as Detroit limps into the second half 14 games below .500, one silver lining of the season has been the health and availability of left fielder Riley Greene.

Greene is one of three American League players to appear in all 81 games of their team’s season so far, along with Baltimore’s Pete Alonso and Seattle’s Cole Young.

“The badge of honor with playing every day and posting every day, I think it is super important for players to have that mentality,” Hinch said.

Unless you are named Colt Keith or Kerry Carpenter, then it isn’t so important, right coach.

Dingler not in the lineup today. I suppose it could be just a normal Hinch rotation thing, but a little worried after that foul tip into his knee yesterday. He did finish the game, so it’s probably just me expecting the worst with all the injuries this season.

not even as a DH?

Lets hope Valdez is Randy today

Tigers are still scoring runs.

Framber still sucks balls.

Flaherty is coming off the IL to start tomorrow’s game.

There ya go Tork

And the bullpen blows it again.

Is it really the bullpen blowing it if the runner scores on an error?

Nevermind

Blowpen strikes again. good heavens Valdez leaves the game up 2 runs…. he can barely sit down before the Astros score 4 runs.

He still could have got the next guy out. So yeah it’s the bullpens fault.

I’m shocked Vest and his 6.41 ERA didn’t perform well in that inning.

I was listening on the radio in the car, got home turned it on. Immediate 4 runs. I’m sorry for doing that
