Why does Brewers do the deal: They get Skubal an ace to pair with their ace to create a amazing 1-2 punch. They also do it without giving up any of their top 4 prospects in Made/Pena/Pratt/Lara
Why Detroit does it: You get a serviceable pitcher in Henderson. You get a BP arm in Uribe who is solid. You get a top 100 prospect in Williams who can play multiple positions and you get a lottery ticket 3B who this season being high A ball and AA has combined for 32 home runs

I guess the question for you is what is the intent?
A total rebuild of a young team?
Or trading expiring contracts including Skubal, to fill some holes in the roster with young talent?
If you are in the total rebuild then trade the 25yr old Greene, if you arenât, you donât get rid of him.

Very interesting move.
Shows they like the young catcher a lot and a move I didnât see coming to make room for Baez on the roster. They keep Outman, strong CF defender and Ben M after losing Carp to the DL.

This is probably where Iâm at, or closest to it with the roster and upcoming Deadline
I donât see much of a market for Carp and Tork and not sure who would be ready to take over for Tork if he was moved. Both guys are young and cheap and have some ability.
Will be interesting to see who is moved in a week, or if no one is. (off the 26man roster in Detroit specifically).

Not sure if this factored into the decision, but Jake Rogers has been one of the worst catchers in baseball at not challenging pitches out of the strike zone that would be overturned to balls. He just wasnât tapping his helmet at a high enough clip. That can add up over time.

I should add that I wouldnât mind keeping Mize.
Who is the backup catcher now? Have to have at least 2.
They brought Eduardo Valencia back up, he is now the backup catcher and can also fill in for Tork at first base.
