The late May wind cuts through the stadium seats,
As another bleak inning of strikeouts repeats.
His old radio crackles with news of a blown lead,
Another long summer of rebuild, indeed.
The Old English ‘D’ on his cap has turned gray,
Matching the clouds on this bleak game-day.
He remembers when Miggy could alter the skies,
But now he just watches the fly-balls and sighs.
He finishes his Coney, shrugged into the chill,
Walking down Woodward with dreams to fulfill.
“Are we ever gonna win?” asks a heartbroken lad.
He swallows the ache and says, “It’s not…too…bad.”
This one is from the heart, my fellow den-mates.
The dreams for the Tigers, end like a wet fart.
Close…juuust rearrange the first line and you have a poetry slam banger:
I’m about to send a poem drug testing kit to you. Far too creative, gotta be AI or all the pickled possum tit injections. ![]()
You have a talent for words Karl!
I took AP English in high school
Just makes me wonder who the Tigers trade away at the deadline for the next Trey Sweeny’s of baseball… Scub and Mize is what I’m thinking.
.
.
To be fair… Flaherty was never going to being the kind of prospects that Skubal would….
and… Thayron Liranzo was the higher rated prospect in that deal.
Time will tell if Liranzo pans out at the MLB level.
Liranzo straight up forgot how to hit since becoming a Sea Wolf.
.206/.315/.390 over 470 PA. Still takes a walk but profiling as a backup C ( which we need).
Odds are Valencia has the nod next year over him as Rogers replacememt.
Briceño now hurt again seems a year+ out and a 3rd C and more of a DH/1B.
I just saw that Tigers have three guys in the top 10! Of worst WAR in the league…Perez 3rd, dreamy eyed Zachy Mick #4, and stick a Tork in him at #9…but gotta say, top 10 aint…too…baaad. There’s just no way some of the guys in Toledo could be better than those WARs…just…nooo…wayyy….

I wonder if Harris is still losing sleep at night trying to figure out why this team isnt a top 5 offense… does somebody want to tell him? He seems a bit slow on the uptake ![]()
I see Melton is starting the second game today…so that’ll be worth watching I reckon
.
I wasn’t overly critical of AJ Hinch last year, but one of my bigger frustrations was his refusal to give Melton a chance to crack the rotation… while he had Chris Paddack and Old Charlie Morton trotting out to the bump as the season slid off a steep cliff.
But…. ERAs over 6.00 from a starting pitcher… are… not… too… bad!!! ![]()
.
I’m just happy to see Mckinstry in the leadoff spot. We need to give him every opportunity to get that batting average up to .190
Hinch playing chess.
Uhhh…correction, that’s ALL STAR Zach McKinstry mister! - signed, Scott Harris
Forecast today
100% chance of me not watching
85% chance these guys play wobbly as swollen dog nuts
63.2% chance they get swept
50% chance Melton gets 2 or fewer for run support
38.63% chance Tork strikes out twice today
25% chance the Tigers win 1 game
11% chance Kenley blows a save
4.73% chance Tigers win both.
.00001% chance ■■■■■■■ Hinch and Harris get Jesus about how Sanford and Son this lineup is and do something about it this week.

Only thing I dont agree with…I’m going with 88.7% chance.
Ohh Keith playing 1st…be a “bold” strategy if Hinch let’s him play the whole game amirght?
Watch Keith get on base 2-3 times early… and then AJ will pinch hit Tork for him when a Lefty reliever gets the ball.
Buckle up…. it’s about to be Bullpen Bloopers again.
