My personal opinion. These guys were never good batters, but they were scrappy and fighters at the plate. Especially with the game on the line. They played free and loose. After having some success, they started thinking they were legit MLB bats. They lost their edge. They need to get that back to being scrappers and misfits again. Or that’s just bs and their luck ran out as the other teams figured out how to pitch them. ![]()
Hitting is contagious and so are slumps and most of the team is in that right now let alone the fact that they really were playing above their hitting Talent level. So yes we need one impact bat. I was talking a couple months ago about the idea that you really need a fourth Thumper in your lineup to really stretch that line up out cause Havoc with the pitching staff to never stop putting pressure on it. They absolutely need someone like Suarez right now
I don’t remember Alan Trammell getting benched half the time for a total scrub.
Also on this day in baseball Somebody had a worst day than the Tigers did In 1975 the Mets Felix Mantilla had four singles his first 4 ABs. That’s not the bad, the bad is the guy behind him Joe Torre, who grounded into four double plays after each of those singles

I think the AL Central being so bad and having such a huge lead in the division that keeping the focus and intensity up every night could be a challenge. Blessing and a curse having such a big lead in the division so early in the season.
No. But you have to admit he has a very long swing. Maybe the longest swing in the majors. And he’s striking out at an astronomical rate. He’s not only striking out, but he’s swinging and missing on most of them. Right now he’s Rob Deer. Every swing is for the fences. He probably needs a break mentally too. So maybe I do want the job. ![]()
A bunch of the guys we keep playing are fringe MLB players at best, if they’re feeling entitled, they really are stupid.

How do you know the fairy isn’t a crazy glue sniffer? ![]()

He had an OPS 5 straight seasons under .800, a couple barely over .700 seasons
