Scouting report
Lorenzen, Rangers: Quick trivia question: Who was the Tigers’ lone All-Star representative last season? Yep. Lorenzen rejuvenated his career in a few short months with the Tigers and then was traded to the Phillies where he pitched a no-hitter. He went unsigned as a free agent until March 22 when the Rangers got him for one year and $4.5 million.
Olson, Tigers: He didn’t have the command of any of his pitches in his last outing in Pittsburgh. He fell behind too many hitters and threw too many predictable fastballs in disadvantage counts. The result, he was tagged for six runs and nine hits with three walks and a hit-batsman in 4.1 innings. You have to go back to Aug. 22 of last season, seven starts ago, to find his last clunker.
Second or third time this season, that I remember anyways, the Tigers offense does beyond stupid shit. Things they could control anyways. Lorenzen somewhat wild, walks two straight batters on 8 or 9 pitches iirc, Vierling comes up and swings at first f#$king pitch…double play.
Seriously, you have to take a pitch or two there. Vierling has been in the league for a second or two, no excuse for that shit.
3double plays killed three opportunities to score…
