Scouting report
Olson, Tigers: He’s been on an incredible run, allowing two runs or less in seven of his eight starts, including the last six in a row. He’s allowed just six extra-base hits (doubles) all season (189 batters). He’s not allowed a home run since late last September (53 innings, 214 batters). Opponents are hitting .143 or worse against his four main pitches (four-seam, changeup, slider and curveball.
Wacha, Royals: Wenceel Perez and Jake Rogers took him deep at Comerica Park on April 28. But he’s won his last two starts, allowing three earned runs in 12 innings. The changeup is his money pitch. He’s throwing it 33% of the time and holding hitters to a .173 average, .280 slug with 30 strikeouts in 78 plate appearances and a 34% whiff rate. Conversely, opponents are crushing both his four-seamer (.413) and cutter (.467).
Atleast Tork is starting to hit homers now i suppose still
Batting and Fielding hs been inconsistent, and I hope Reese gets his first win today, its insane to see him have this incredible start only to lose in every game hes pitched in so far.
While Keith’s bat has taken time, which isn’t new for him, his glovework has been surprisingly good at 2nd. I was hoping for avg or slightly above, he has exceeded my expectations.
