Scouting report

:arrow_forward: Gausman, Blue Jays: It’s been a wobbly start to the season for the 33-year-old. Though he’s soldiered through all but two starts quite well, opponents are hitting .301 with a .821 OPS. Lefty-handed hitters especially have vexed him (.338 average, .533 slug, .918 OPS). The average velocity on his four-seamer is down nearly 2 mph, and it’s been getting hit (.376, 635 slug). The Statcast run value on it, plus-16 last year, is minus-7 so far this season.

:arrow_forward: Flaherty, Tigers: He’s on a run of four straight quality starts (2.49 ERA). He leads the American League with 72 strikeouts. His 33% strikeout rate ranks in the top 5 percentile and his 3.7% walk rate in the top 6 percentile in baseball. He has a 31% chase rate and 33% whiff rate overall — a 42% and 44.75 whiff rates with his slider and knuckle-curve, respectively.

Yesterday the Jays had 2 hits and scored 0 runs vs the White Sox. The Tigers should be terrified of this lethal offense coming from Toronto.

I use to take gummies to help me sleep. Now i just watch the Jays hit.

So, a bunch of 1-0 2-1 games is what you’re predicting.

The Jays will likely score 10 in the first game and then get no hit 3 straight games. That’s how they usually do it.

Bally is having problems with their video, so the guys are calling the game like its a radio broadcast…and doing a very nice job of it.

BTW

Jason Benetti is one of the biggest nerds I have ever seen.

And I really like him a lot.

MLB.tv is saying:
stay tuned event will begin shortly while below I can see that Gausman is pitching to Vierling with one out in the bottom of the first…

Not gonna lie, to this point I’m underwhelmed with Benetti, nice guy does a good job when the game is his focus. However, I think he goes off tangent too much, as Gibby says…there is a game going on…

Apparently they had a power outage at the stadium.

Ok, MLB tv now has the video feed with the some type of audio with CMo and JM.

Same with Bally

What sucks is the audio is ahead of the video…muting it for now.

I turned the volume up, and wheeled myself out to the front porch.

It’s a beautiful day.

Dang, what softball league did the Jays get this guy from?

10 starts, 8 quality starts, and one GD win to show for it.

Smh

They should have taken Flaherty out after Chubby hit the Yosemite single.

I can’t blame them for trying to get Flaherty the win though.
