But the slider is as evil as ever (hitters are 1-for-13 with 8 strikeouts).
Mize, Tigers: He’s coming off what might have been his most impressive big-league outing, stuffing the Mariners on one hit over 5.2 innings last week. He expertly mixed two different sliders and a nasty splitter off 94-mph four-seam and two-seam fastballs. He got five whiffs on seven swings at the splitter.
