I think people would be a lot less upset about the lack of action if we weren’t potentially wasting a homegrown 2-time Cy Young winning pitcher in his prime.
Bring back Skubal and your “window” with this core becomes a whole lot bigger.

Its funny that the 3 pitching centric teams ended up on one side of the bracket and the 3 hitting centric the other.
I kinda like that for us. Though, with Suarez and Naylor, Seattle is really both hitting and pitching deep. Actually Kirby had a rough year for a 1. A lot less swing and miss by Seattle’s starters than Cleveland…could be ok.

IIRC, Game 1 would be Saturday and Game 2 would be Sunday night after the Lions. It makes way more sense IMO to throw Skubal in Game 2 on full rest.
I have no idea who throws Game 1. Montero? Bullpen game maybe?

Game 4 = Wed
Game 5 = Fri
Not sure what Hinch plans, but Game 2 and 5 for Skubal would keep hm on his normal days rest.
What’s the difference if he pitches game 1 or game 5 on 4 days rest
I say let him go game 1 and then game 5 he’s on full day rest

Prefer he pitches only once next series . game 1 5 series after then game 2 and not needed.
I’m curious to see what Seattle does with their rotation knowing that Skubal will likely pitch in Game 2 vs Game 1.
The Tigers can remedy that by winning the series before it gets to game 5. But if it does get to a game 5 you can bet that Skubal will be pitching. Of course who knows with Hinch and his crazy thoughts sometimes. IMO Skubal gets game 5 no matter what if that game is needed.

Now, Woo was nursing an injury at the end of the regular season, and IIRC nobody really knows how it’s supposed to effect him in the postseason.
If he couldn’t go for whatever reason, George Kirby is still pretty good.

All off season…Tigers work with Riley to level out his swing by at least 20 degrees. That still leaves him with a 30 degree upercut arc.
