First game I’ve watched this season. I love good pitching, I was a catcher. Skubal was just outstanding, location was flawless. Hard to say goodbye but the offers are going to be huge. Good to see the boys having fun.

Tigers seem to play great against the Yankees

Yankees have lost 6 games in a row. You just love to see that! Ideally they would lose at least 30 in a row

THought I heard during game one that the Tigers have a winning record against the top tier AL teams.

Losing Carp and Torres killed this team, coulda woulda shoulda …

They said we are 21-17 against teams with a winning record.

It’s a very odd season.

Sounds like the Lions secondary.

I mean the BP killed the team as well.

Yea, think I keep Greene.

Just need him to be more consistent

I absolutely agree on that, no doubt.

I do think, with the offense healthy, May could have been closer to 12-16 vs 6-22. Which puts you in the thick of the WC and division race.

As it is, I think this is an outlier season, I’m not really looking at the W/L record but more about the standings. Majority of AL records are bad this season, ie outlier.

I think Greene has been consistent this year, probably most consistent on the team.

No one wants to blame it on injuries but they really crushed them.

Losing Torres, Skubal, Carp, Mize, Verlander, etc all for significant time is hard to overcome.

And yes the bullpen of course has been a dumpster fire

.

You did say “etc.”. but I have to mention ALL-STAR Zack McKinstry missed time.

Plus Javy and Meadows… who may not be great bats… but are better defensively than the options at CF and SS right now.
Those are 2 of the top 4 key positions on defense.

And… Melton just got back recently. He has been great since last summer, so that is another big arm they didn’t have for about 2 months.

Good point on Javy and Parker’s absence impacting the defense significantly. Way to many blunders in the field by this team.
