You are right about that more than likely. But from a balls and strikes perspective IMHO UM should be #1 right now based on how they are “supposed” to rank the teams. Then if GA just squeeks by AL and we roll Iowa, there “should” be a good chance we remain at 1. Ultimately if want a Championship, we’ve got to beat GA head to head and nothing can stop that from happening except Iowa then our next opponent. I just believe we should be 1 right now after beating #2 while they beat GA Tech by 8. Beating 2 top 10 teams should be more impressive than beating 4 top 25 teams. Especially when one of those was #2 and played at the end of the season.
I’ll say it too. A lot of the players who were winning those games last year and the year before are playing on Sundays. Including their best player suiting up for the 1 loss Eagles, (that should be a Lion right now…)
Do you uofm fans whine and cry about everything? You guys are in the playoffs.
100% I didn’t have a dog in the fight, but as I explained to my step son and daughter, it’s a huge rivalry, at the biggest stadium in the country, and #2 vs #3 so it should be fun…and it definitely was.
HOWMEVER… someone explain to me how either Michigan, or Ohio State or Washington (for crying out loud) or Florida State isn’t going to just get curb stomped by Georgia.
Sub in Oregon and I think the outcome is the same.
Michigan’s defense, and running game plays well against anybody in the country.
Not saying they would, or will beat Georgia, but I don’t think they would get curb stomped.
I can’t. But what just went on affects us playing or not playing the tougher opponent and risk even getting to the game against them. Seeding is important.
I’ve heard who cares
I’ve heard it doesn’t matter
I’ve heard UM cryers
I’ve heard we’d have no chance anyway against GA
I’ve heard back when Nakobe Dean, Jalen Carter, Travon Walker, and Quay Walker were playing there they were the #1 team so the 2023 team should be too.
What I haven’t heard is UM shouldn’t be #1 because GA has beaten higher ranked opponents this season.
The only rankings thst matter now come out tomorrow night at 7pm. They are the only ones that affect our seeding, and who we play.
It just seens relevant to wait and see what those rankings look like.
Still have to beat Iowa (yes I know very unlikely to lose) but a loss could keep them out.

As an outsider (no college affiliation at all as far as football goes) I just feel like we’ve seen this movie before.
Georgia is still a great team, but they definitely aren’t as dominant as they have been.
I went into last years playoffs feeling like Georgia had it, and everyone else was playing for 2nd place. That’s definitely not the case this year. They have struggled against some very mediocre teams.
Ah, well that’s a panty unbuncher then. I thought it was done with what has been put out.
As a UM fan who went to CMU for one glorious year… you are correct, we have. But there’s always a chance and we don’t need to get jobbed in the seeding when it means playing an easier opponent on paper.
I don’t think Ohio is that bad. It’s a good place to get gas and use the bathroom when going on road trips.
Nelson’s Ledges is pretty awesome. But Ohio has been ranked the worst state in the US many times by multiple independent sources.
From Ann Arbor you drive south until you smell it… then drive east until you step in it.
Yes i am talking about the city named after a purely evil man.
Pictured above is a team I think can beat Michigan
Also, in my opinion, the national championship is being played this Saturday in Atlanta.
You wouldn’t be saying that if the Fuckeyes had won on Saturday…
The rankings don’t come out until tomorrow. I expect Michigan to be #1 for this week at least.
Before Saturday, Alabama would’ve kicked Ohio State’s ass.
This was not a good Ohio State team. I don’t think any Buckeye fan is going to debate that. They should’ve lost to Notre Dame and played a bunch of nobodies other than a Penn State team at home with no offense.
Bama needed a miracle to get by an Auburn team that got smoked by New Mexico State. This ain’t your big brothers Alabama team.
