Trade deadline deals...not alot of beans given up!

I was surprised that the Redskins were able to get Marshown Lattimore, one of the best CB’s in the league at the trade deadline. For not a whole lot. Made me look at all the deals that were done this year.

Is it me, or is there a trend towards getting vets at the deadline for not alot of equity? There wasn’t a single trade this year that involved a pick higher than the third round. Teams are really holding onto their beans. It seems moreso now than in the recent past, but wonder if any of you have a different take?

To me this is the way teams are counteracting the inflation rate of the top tier of players at almost every position growing faster than the salary cap inflation rate. You are just going to have to have your higher pics and have them work out to be able to afford giving Dak Prescott 60 million and 20 plus million to Second wide receivers like Devonta Smith and T Higgins etc etc

Good take. Could be. I can’t figure out an answer to this. Not max contracts like the NBA.

Also seemed that teams were more willing to give up multiple late rounders rather than a single higher pick.

Really wonder if Cleveland had more offers on ZD.

Inflation rates?

Stick to the Lions, not economic issues. Let’s leave the economic stats to the experts and focus on the Lions’ stats instead! - Go Lions!
