NFL rules stipulate teams receive third-round selections in each of the next two drafts — or each of the next three drafts if two minority employees are hired by another team — providing the candidates were with the team for at least two years.

So if both Glenn & Agnew are hired by another team in 2025, the Lions would get 3rd Rd compensatory picks for the next three drafts.

Omg, @Jman is going to have an orgasm when he reads that.

Just wait until the comp picks starting rolling in.

Davis
Barnes
Zietler
Levi
Moseley
Patrick
Davenport
Melifonwu

Any of those guys are good enough to get a contract worthy of a comp pick.

I would expect to bring in very few, if any FA that impact the comp formula. I think they will focus on resigning their own again.

Resign

Davis
Zietler
Patrick

Extend

Hutch
Kerby

I think you wait to extend Jamo unless he takes a very friendly deal, which I doubt. He needs to prove consistency before he is extended. Would love Rodrigo extended but his injury basically takes that option away. Paschal hasn’t shown enough for an early extension either.

Wouldn’t mind resigning Levi/Barnes/Melifonwu/Moseley/Daveport if the price was right but they all have had major injury issues in their past or are currently coming off injury so their market is going to be tough to forecast.

Question would it be in the 2025 draft or would it be like in 2026 when it would start if we were to lose someone?

Wow, this is really interesting about Agnew. He’s always seemed like the Goose to Holmes’ Maverick.

He’d be a loss but I think there is enough cultural depth to be fine. Martin I know a lot less about.

IF only one of Agnew or AG gets hired away, we’d get one 3rd rounder in 2025 and one in 2026. If they both get hired away the same off-season you can only earn 3 picks max and I’m not sure how it would break down. At least one would be in 2025 though.

If they both get hired, we also get a 2027 pick.
