I just saw a video of him laying face down, being handcuffed by several policeman.
No condemnation until we see and know the true facts!!
After a traffic violation, wtf. And right outside the stadium.
But he was released pretty quickly and apparently will play. And I suspect he will go off. Poor Jags.
Looks like reckless driving. Don’t care who you are or where you are. Put other people’s safety in jeopardy behind the wheel and you deserve to be charged.
No shit? Must have been a pretty severe violation. They had that Man on the ground like he just committed murder or something.
Not a huge fan of him, but this was my first thought as well. Will be really interesting to see/hear what led from, “yeah, here’s my license and registration” to “on the ground and hands behind your back”.
To wind up in cuffs after a traffic stop, you have to be a real dick. If the cops are wrong see them in court. Don’t pull the do you know who I am routine.
Need him to go off for my fantasy team after that
We don’t know that he did.
It was game day traffic, some fights had already broken out (this is two Florida fanbases after all), they were already on edge. Being a cop ain’t easy, I suspect they just overreacted.
Apparently a bunch of his teammates stopped and got on the cops’ case - it was literally on the route they take to the stadium - and things eased up from there. But that’s all secondhand.
Well, somebody overreacted. Again, if you get flagged for reckless, chances are you’re not just driving to work. I agree though, more will come. Hill isn’t exactly known to be an even keeled character. If it was heavy handed cops then I hope he gets off. If he was endangering others I hope he pays the price. All peanuts to him in any case.
Sources told ESPN’s Jeff Darlington that Hill was stopped for speeding and then got into a verbal altercation with police and was subsequently placed in handcuffs.
So it doesn’t sound like the stop itself got him in handcuffs, but some type of verbal altercation after the stop.
I’ll guess and say he was mouthing off. If that is just the way he got arrested, then its pretty F-ed up. No surprise for Florida though.
First thing I thought of.
Actually DWB was the first thing I thought of, but if he was being noncompliant, then it’s hard to fault the officers for detaining him.
People need to understand that there are procedures that they’ve got to suffer through that police do for everyone’s safety. You try to short-circuit that effort and it could be seen as threatening behavior and result in even more difficulty in getting through what should be a routine stop.
Makes you wonder if Tyreek was on a watch list due to a known association with this guy …
This is my new favorite meme, and by a large margin.
Please don’t let this by the final step in the transformation
He’s Mike Martz without the stick up his butt.
