I know you’re joking, but this response indicates you think it’s a fantasy. I have been down the rabbit hole and am skeptical about most of what I encounter. But I can assure you, for what it’s worth, that my experience was 100% real.

Is to me a very solid path for Nope on Aliens/Alien contact.
Also, the Drake Equation can be made to say anything.
OTOH I am a SciFi superhonk, so I hope I’m wrong.

Fermi’s paradox is flat out wrong. Many, many people have seen them. Maybe one day you too.
The rest are all human physics/math questions. We’ve only had the scientific method for a few hundred years. Imagine a culture with thousands and even millions of years to develop. The universe could be 200 billion years old according to recent discoveries. And that’s just in this time/space dimension.

I truly believe that Aliens exist and are out there. I do not believe they are visiting us or that we are worth visiting. I have always believed that the things we are seeing is government top secret technology and drones.
I am definitely going to check out the documentary. I always find stuff like this interesting. It brings back memories of listening to Coast to Coast with Art Bell.

I’ve alway found this a puzzing notion.
The Earth would be EXACTLY what they are looking for in the cosmos. The proverbial needle in a universal haystack. Earth would be one of the most interesting places to visit. This place is indeed special.
It’s wrong. An advanced civilization that could get here could also leave us without evidence. As you say, prime directive.
Then it’s unprovable. You could say they are sitting at Wendy’s drivethru right now, but with cloaking devices. They established a hidden Wakanda in Greenland. They’ve been orbiting in a Star Destroyer for 15000 years out of phase with our dimension. Fing Fang Foom gave us transistors in 1949 then went into hibernation in a volcano.
PROOF is proof, not They Have Been Because Magic Space Dragons
Add this to Fermi’s paradox: it’s highly likely that a visiting alien presence would be very difficult to prove by design.

We are only the needle in the haystack if life is super rare. I just don’t know if we have explored enough or our technology is good enough to determine this. Life on a different planet could be so foreign to us that we don’t even know the proper way to detect them.

Complex life perhaps but I think we’ll find microbial is quite abundant.
I am ambivalent. I love this planet despite how shitty humans at large can be.
On another note, I am becoming convinced (have explored this deeply) that consciousness is a primary feature of reality and not the product of the brain, human or otherwise. This is why I don’t fear aliens like Hawking did. We may before too long have proof that consciousness is not just a product of brains. If it’s endemic to the universe, it’s quite possible that aliens would be spiritual in nature. Chew on that.
