Update: Daniel Jones released

Basically announced a goodbye message.

I wouldn’t mind bringing him in for a look if he’s released.

They can’t do it this year, can they?

I think he knows he’s done cause they can’t move on from him if he gets hurt in a game. Kind of like what the Raiders did with Carr. So basically they’re putting him on the shelf and his season’s over.

He’s legit terrible and the Lions already have a long term solution at backup QB with a more talented guy so why would they look at Jones?

Also, the Giants have to wait until the offseason to release him. The dead cap is just too much to take on right now.

Giants have a lot of problems.

Giants decided to overpay him, but they’re not better with DeVito or Lock as a starter. :man_shrugging:

Daboll & Daniel Jones need fresh starts

Daniel Jones has always been a backup QB.

Todd McShay nailed that one
Props McShay

I’d take Daniel Jones in a heartbeat as #2/3

He fits here

Exactly David Carr and Russ Wilson treatment.

I wonder how much Holmes is going to be willing to invest in our backup QB. He’s going to have to make that same decision with Hooker as well, probably after next season. I just can’t see Holmes letting Hooker run out his contract and then face the possibility of him leaving in free agency and getting nothing in return. So how much is enough to make Hooker stick around to be our “long term” solution?

I don’t think he will sign cheaply enough to fit into our cap over the 25-27 time frame.

Also, he isnt very good.

Also, Hooker may be better, maybe even right now.

Also, someone dumb will snap him up thinking he might be the cheap answer.

Coming here would be great for Jones. Not for us, though. He’s got zero chance to start, and I seriously doubt he can take Hookers job.
But, what kills it for him is he is in the second year of a $160 million contract. That’s pretty steep for a #3.

Daniel Jones to me is in the Mitch Trubisky, Blake Bortles, Maybe Geno/Mariotta tier

He shouldn’t cost much to sign if he does no thanks

Odds that the other new york qb goes to the jets in the offseason following his predecessor in GB?

as for jones… i dont care where he goes but if he came here valenti would lose his mind

He could come here at #3, and that’s about it imho

Daniel Jones said you need to move over…

Absolutely interested. Let him learn as a 3. No downside at all. He has been trashed by a former team, likely carries a grudge, and will know he has to work his ass off to make it here. Sounds like a Lion if he is still on the roster after doing those things.

Daniel will be the new Darko.

I have a poker friend who was talking a lot of shit in 2021 as DaBoll took the Giants to a winning record and playoff win against the Vikings. Now he talks about fantasy football, but no Giants. Huh…

I’m trying to be gracious as I kinda sorta maybe gloat about the Lions rising like a phoenix from the ashes. Who knew that screaming How 'Bout Them Lions could be offensive?

I went out today and picked his Italian ass up in one of my fun FFL. LFGOOOO is right.

My wife is full blood Italian. Her dad is off the boat. I will explain to everyone on here why you should know up front that all pure breeds bring a little something extra to the equation. Me being Irish mostly (a bit muttish) all the Irish chicks I knew were way to intense and crazy…so I married the sweetest Italian gal on earth…only if she is the sweets I would hate to see the angriest most intense one…

Cheers bro

Crazy loves crazy eh?

Lol. What has hooker shown to be considered a more “talented guy”. What a bunch of nonsense. Daniel Jones led the giants to the playoffs while turning the ball over 6 times in the entire season.
