Still feel like we’re a little short on depth at corner, WR and I’d like a veteran Rb to man that third spot.

Never been a big fan of Craig Reynolds.

I’d like to bring back Jackson. He fills two roles as backup running back and kick returner.

Sign Terry B to be the backup QB since we can redshirt Hooker for the season and leave him on the pup. Roll with 2 qbs and Martinez on the practice squad.

Let’s take the defensive backfield to another level with one more veteran signing. Sin or Peters would give us awesome depth at the position.

There’s not much to like from the free agent crop for receivers right now so we’ll have to wait for cuts.

Depending on Levi O health, we should seriously consider Ioannadis on a one year deal.

I’m happy with the depth at LB, O-Line, Edge and TE

Breaking news… the roster is loaded!

Is it too early to do an “on the bubble” list? I think Holmes is stacking talent and some developmental depth may be passed over by this draft class:

**Quarterback **
Adrian Martinez (UDFA) - Will be interesting if they have a Taysom Hill Role in mind

**Running back **

Jermar Jefferson - Unless he returns to the flashes we saw early before injury…
Greg Bell

Wide receiver

Trinity Benson - Had 2 years and hasn’t put it together.
Tom Kennedy - LOVE tom but Cota is going to take his spot.
Maurice Alexander
Stanley Berryhill,

Tight end/Fullback (6)

Jason Cabinda - Jason hasn’t been great and he’s been injured. I could see them keep Martinez or a TE over Cabinda.

Shane Zylstra
Derrick Deese Jr.

**Offensive line ** All these guys are on the bubble. Some will emerge

Obinna Eze (T)
Kayode Awosika (G)
Logan Stenberg (G)
Ross Pierschbacher (C)
Darrin Paulo (G/T)
Conor Galvin (OT, UDFA)
Ryan Swoboda (OT, UDFA)
Brad Cecil (C, UDFA)

Interior defensive line

Demetrius Taylor
Cory Durden (UDFA)
Chris Smith (UDFA)

EDGE

Julian Okwara (SAM)
Zach Morton (UDFA)

**Linebacker ** ST will likely be key here.

WLB Derrick Barnes - Is he able to put it all together or too much Aaron Curry
Jalen Reeves-Maybin
Anthony Pittman
Trevor Nowaske (UDFA)
Isaac Darkangelo* (UDFA)

Cornerback 2 of these guys could make it.

Mac McCain
Jarren Williams
Starling Thomas V (UDFA)

**Nickel/Dime DB **

Chase Lucas (NB)
Khalil Dorery (NB)

**Safety **

Ifeatu Melifonwu
Saivion Smith
Brady Breeze
Brandon Joseph (UDFA) - wouldn’t shock me if Joseph jumps all 3 of these guys

Good bubble list! Injuries and special teams ability will likely be a deciding factor for many of those final roster spots.

Also, the practice squads are huge now, up to 16 players I believe so many dudes that get cut will still find jobs.

Agree, very thin there IMO.

All the more reason to keep players like

Cota over Kennedy
Ibrahim over Jemar
Green over Benson
Sorsdal over Eze/Paulo
Joseph over Smith

Because all those rookies will be coveted by other teams over our prior year practice squad players…

Also if you really like a guy, and don’t have a roster spot, just go with the fake injury routine.

And stash them on IR for the season. Teams pull that pretty often, we did with Greg Bell last year. Fake injury is a joke, but a minor injury milked often happens. Bell pulled a Hammy in training camp so we IR’d him for the year. Smart move really and he still got paid.

Hmm… is that the Rumor? I was wondering why they bothered to use an IR spot for him. Usually if a guy is that injured that early in his career, it’s: Thank you and best of luck, goodbye!

Not a rumor, he pulled a hammy last July. They stashed him on IR meaning they may actually see potential in him.

This is the rumor I meant

Thats definitely a competitive roster. I think reciever is arguably the weakest spot along with CB depth.

QB
Could maybe bring someone in. Imo, not necessary.
RB
2 Make it between Reynolds/Jefferson/Ibrahim. Odd man out goes to PS
WR
I’m cool with it. We are gonna see a lot of Gibbs and Monty on the field together early. I like our 7th rounder as the #5 to start the season. Gibbs makes it unnecessary to go with 6.
TE
Really like this position after drafting LaPorta. Mitchell and Wright round it out with Zlystra likely to the PS.
OL
Top 6 is set. This might be my first position of, would like to see someone added. Maybe they like the developmental guys. But a solid veteran RT (not Nelson) would be nice to see.

DL
Someone solid is going to get cut here. Definitely would welcome an upgrade at DT, but I don’t think it happens barring an injury.
EDGE
Again someone solid might get cut or traded here. Love this group
LB
Love our top 3. Pretty content with this position group as well.
DB
I think adding an outside corner needs to happen. Absolutely loved the position with Okudah still here. That trade opened up a decent little hole. Our safety position is legit. No worries there for me.

Corner is the only position I really want to see someone added. RT being the second spot I would like to see an upgrade. Could see a DT and possibly QB too. I counted 45 positions already locked up pretty much the other day. So we might have the fewest spots available that we’ve ever had. The depth of this team is legit. It’s remarkable what BH/DC have done over these last 3 offseasons. Let’s roll!

My very early prediction for the final 53 (excludes Jamo):

QB (3) - Goff, Sudfeld, Hooker
RB (4) - Gibbs, Montgomery, C Reynolds, Ibrahim
WR (5) - St Brown, Raymond, J Reynolds, Jones, Green
TE (4) - LaPorta, Mitchell, Wright, Zylstra
OL (8) - Decker, Jackson, Ragnow, Vaitai, Sewell, Glasgow, Nelson, Sorsdal
DE (6) - Hutchinson, Cominsky, R Okwara, C Harris, Paschal, Houston
DT (5) - McNeill, Buggs, Martin, Jones, Onwuzurike
LB (6) - Campbell, Anzalone, Rodriguez, Barnes, Pittman, Reeves-Maybin
CB (5) - Sutton, Moseley, Jacobs, W Harris, Lucas
S (4) - Gardner-Johnson, Walker, K Joseph, Branch
ST (3) - Fox, Badgley, McQuaid

I think Hooker is gonna start the year on PUP list if im not mistaken.

We’ll need more depth at defensive back. I could see us going four safeties if we have six corners but no way we go five and four.

Would love to see another 3-tech in the mix. I noticed that Wormley is still available last I checked. Grades very well as a run stopper, has played on good defenses, and has shown flashes of being a good pass rusher. I wonder if he’s hurt? Otherwise wondering why he hasn’t been signed. DTs tend to get picked up quickly.

One adjustment that stands out is at Oline. Didn’t we parade out five RG’s last season? Thinking a couple more, but really infantile in understanding the PS rules nowadays…

Tore his ACL in December. Won’t be ready to play until late in the season, maybe not at all next year.
