How is Darnold about to lead Vikes to 14-3
Record with a Journeyman QB with same stats as Goff, and Goff is higher in MVP than Darnold is on the Comeback list? Darnold should win it

Darnold would be a good comeback player of the year. His stats are ok. Nothing flashy.
But from being a 3rd stringer on most rosters. To being tied in the NFC for the 1 seed. Yea big comeback

I thought they changed the stipulations for winning Comeback Player of the Year to not include guys coming back off the bench. It’s more of a return from injury award now. I could be wrong but I think I heard Eisen talk about it.

They didnt change the rule. They just made a point of emphasize to note that coming back from injury is bigger than off the bench. It was already the rule. The NFL just pointed it out.

I hate that emphasis. Everyone knows Herbert and Burrows are great players - BFD they came back (I don’t even recall either missing significant time last year, but I don’t follow them). Darnold was in the conversation for worst draft pick of all time. Now he’s leading a team competing for the number one seed - come on, that’s a comeback of epic proportions. Just as Baker deserved it last year. To me it is way more inspirational for the underdog to win.

I hear ya. But i think what burrow is doing. After being injured for what seams like 2 years in a row. And now damn near having a NFL record season.
