I know there is ‘cap inflation,’ but geez. That just doesn’t make sense to me in a ‘Wins Above Replacement’ level of thinking. We literally covered his output LAST YEAR with a bunch of guys making 10% of that money.
Is anyone ‘scared’ of Hockenson the way people might be ‘scared’ of Kelce (or Gronk/Tony Gonzalez in their primes)? I really don’t think so.
I mean, good for Hock, and I’m not sad the Vikes are tying up so much cap space. But it makes my brain hurt…

And are they bad enough to get in range? They’re kind of in that no man’s land of 15-20 IMO. Maybe they can find a 10+ like Mahomes or Watson, but that’s a pretty rare deal.
They’ll be too good for Drake or Caleb. Personally I think 2-3 guys are going to elevate themselves into viable starting QB prospects. McCarthy, Ewers and Leonard are probably viewed as the most likely to do that as of now.
The plan is to out-tank the Cardinals!!
