Dobbs hasnt looked terrible this year, tbh, but no way in hell are they winning anything with him

another kinda odd trade imo

A 5th/6th sounds reasonable. If they gave up anything more than that, I may start feeling sorry for the fans.

Just texted my friend who’s a Vikings fan that they traded a 2025 2nd for Dobbs.

His reaction…

Hahahahahahahaha

(I’m joking obviously)

Good for Josh. I was pissed when we let him go.
He was the best option for backup we had until we got Teddy.

Vikings are going for that 7 seed.

Im guessing ownership is telling the FO they want to be competitive still this season lol

Yup, definitely winning the division.

Don’t get people trashing this trade. Dobbs is solid. Vikings have weapons. He can get the ball to them. This is a great move for Minny.

O’Connell is a better coach than any he had in AZ.

I live in Arizona and he’s looked pretty good. One of the top 10 backups.

Luckily we have a top 5 backup on our roster as Minshew, Dalton, Bridgewater, Darnold and Heinike are in a league above most other backups.

Hunter just isn’t that valuable, IMO. He is 29 and is due a massive contract extension this off-season. Teams don’t usually line up to trade high end draft captial for a player entering his age 30 season needing to commit to them a massive extension. His value is probably a 3rd.

Thought Jamies would be a better fit there. Dobbs has flashed at times in Arizona

I wanna see compensation before i truly judge it tbh

Dobbs is solid, but hes not Kirk

he doesnt really move the needle for the vikings this year, and they arent winning the superbowl with it

really weird, not to run with hall and mullens, feels like either they really didnt like either, or ownership told them to try to be competitive still

Exactly. Minnesotta traded for a solid back-up QB who is likely to start. If the compensation is low, it is a solid low risk move.

He is still a bottom 5 starting QB, trying to learn a new offense mid-season. Minnesota is a 7 win team at best.

If the Viking lose Sunday, do they make this deal?

I think Vikings believe they can still grab a wild card. At 4-4 they are in the hunt. But, anything more than a 4th would indicate a bit of an overreach.

Actually, the Lions “didn’t let him go,” he got poached off the practice squad by the Titans and was almost immediately installed as their starter.
