Vlad Jr; pre hair cut post hair cut

In honor of @BigNatty birthday this tidbit came up on MLB radio today, I have to admit I was suprised they referenced BN.

Vlad stats prehaircut
73 games
7HR
30 RBI’s

Post Haircut
23 Games
10HRs
can’t remember, LOL.

They stated that obviously once the excess hair was gone he was able to correct the launch angle that his hair had been preventing.

So the point of the story is what could Vlad do if he went bald?
**source is Steve Philipps so take it with a grain of salt.

Haha it was the hair all along… yea right :joy:

Stop swinging at sliders in the dirt and swing at strikes… and voila

Vlad has so much talent that if he stops taking the bait and forces pitchers in the zone… game changer.

There is also zero pressure right now… cause the team is terrible

Bo does have long hair though… lol shave that dome asap :joy:

I’m not one to say “I told ya so”. Buuuuuut……

P.s. what happens if foxy-boy ever shaves his head?

WOWZA!!! What a thought that is.

In the double header today…

Vlad had 7 hits, 2 homers, 3 doubles, 2 singles, a walk, 4 runs and 5 rbi’s. Not too shabby. He was also robbed on a diving catch. Should have been more.

I’m about to cut my hair :joy:

Vladdy now has a 20 game hit streak.

During those 20 games he is batting .507 with 10 homers, 22 rbi, and 23 runs.

Yea he’s on fire. Last night homer, triple.and double all to the opposite field.

He’s finally stopped smashing sinkers into the ground and getting the ball in the air consistently again. Too bad he’s doing so well on such a terrible team.

It’s crazy, but Vladdy is still only 25 years old. He’s really still 2 years away from hitting his peak.

The concerns you have about his weight are legit, though. I hope he stays in shape because I think he could end up being one of the best hitters in history.

He would have a long long way to go for that. Hes not even the best “Wow can that guy hit Latino fat guy that should be a DH” in the American League

They came up at the same time, but the 5 year difference in age is the real difference.

Vladdy achieved these numbers and hasn’t even hit his prime. Alonso put up the same numbers while in his prime.

Let’s revisit this comparison in 5 years, when Vladdy is 30 years old, and see what the numbers look like.

Good point…sometimes I forget Vlad is 25… Feels like he’s a 10 year vet cause he came up so young.

I’m counting on you to bring this back up in 5 years.

You can also say something like “that old Bols wasn’t as dumb as we thought”

It’s very important that I be right on this one.

Tigers probably never had a shot at him:

Eligible for free agency in 2015, Baseball America ranked Guerrero as the top international free agent,[8] and MLB.com ranked him the fourth-best.[9] He signed with Toronto on July 2, 2015, for $3.9 million at age 16.

Pete Alonso was drafted the same year:

The New York Mets selected Alonso in the second round, with the 64th pick overall, of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft.

Tigers didn’t have a 2d or 3rd Rd pick that year:

Was that draft still part of the old rules where you lost picks based on the FA you signed?
